‘Aadu 3’ first day box office collection: Jayasurya’s film gets a strong start; Crossed Rs 6 crores. malayalam movie news

'Aadu 3' first day box office collection: Jayasurya's film gets a strong start; crossed Rs 6 crore
Jayasurya starrer ‘Aadu 3’ has taken the box office by storm, earning over Rs 6 crore on the first day and establishing itself as one of the top openers in Kerala. The film brings an exciting time-travel twist to Shaji Pappan’s adventures with a local king.

JayasuriyaRecently released comedy entertainer ‘Aadu 3’ has taken a great start at the box office. Released amid huge expectations, the film was successful in crossing the Rs 6 crore mark on its opening day.

First day collection crosses Rs 6 crore

According to early estimates from Sacnilk website, ‘Aadu 3’ collected Rs 6.00 crore nett on the first day. This takes its total gross collection to around Rs 6.96 crore.

One of the top opening batsmen of Kerala

With its first day figures, Aadu 3 has joined the list of highest first day grossing films in Kerala. It stands alongside big releases like Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuran’, Yash starrer ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and Mammootty’s ‘Bheeshma Parv’. Other films in the list include Beast, Turbo and The Goat Life (Aadujeevitham).

Aadu 3 brings a new narrative twist

In ‘Aadu 3’ the story takes a different turn with time-travel and multiple timeline narrative. The film takes a non-linear structure as Jayasurya reprises his iconic role as Shaji Pappan and also plays a local king, Padmanabha Thamburan. Actors like Vinayakan and Sunny Wayne and others appear in different roles from time to time.

mixed reviews

Although the film has taken a good opening, the critical response has been mixed. ETimes’ review highlighted both the strengths and weaknesses of the film. Our review reads, “Shaan Rahman’s songs and Don Vincent’s background score work well, and there are some humorous dialogues and moments – like the high range Che Guevara reference – that make you laugh heartily. However, apart from these, there is nothing that is worthy of a third installment in the franchise. The supposed comedy, unfortunately, feels forced in places, and there is little spontaneity or organic humor in situations that would otherwise be funny. The length of the film also seems inappropriate, given that this part serves more as a build-up than a film in its own right. Even when evaluated through the lens of a spoof, it’s still not inventive enough.”Disclaimer: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from a variety of public and industry sources. Unless explicitly noted, all figures are approximate, representing a fair representation of the film’s box office performance. These totals may change as official studio data is updated or additional international market reports are finalized. This data is provided by us for informational and entertainment purposes only.

Eid Ul Fitr 2026: South Africa announces official date; Why is Eid celebrated on different days?

Eid Ul Fitr 2026: South Africa announces official date; Why is Eid celebrated on different days?
South Africa announces Eid al Fitr 2026 date amid global divide

Most of the people of the Muslim world are preparing to celebrate Eid Ul Fitr on Friday, March 20, South Africa has officially aligned with countries celebrating the festival on Saturday, March 21, 2026, once again highlighting the glaring global divide in how Eid dates are set. From Africa to Asia, Just a Day’s Difference reveals a deeper story, shaped by moon-watching traditions, scientific calculations and regional interpretations of Islamic law.

Why is South Africa celebrating? eid ul fitr 2026 on 21st March

In South Africa, Islamic organizations have indicated that Eid will likely fall on Saturday, March 21, as the crescent moon marking the end of Ramadan is unlikely to be visible the previous evening. Astronomical data plays an important role here. Experts said that at sunset on March 19, the moon will be too small, less than 15 hours old, to be seen with the naked eye, making Eid on Friday unlikely. As a result, Muslims in South Africa are expected to complete the full 30 days of Ramadan, leading to Eid the following day.The decision puts South Africa in line with several other countries including India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Indonesia that are celebrating Eid on March 21. Meanwhile, countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Belgium and Egypt have confirmed Friday, March 20 as Eid, following their own moon-sighting procedures. This creates a familiar global pattern. Gulf countries will celebrate Eid on Friday while parts of South Asia and Africa will celebrate Eid on Saturday. Although this may seem like a paradox, it is actually a common consequence of the lunar calendar system.

Eid Al Fitr 2026 in South Africa: A community celebration

Despite the difference of one day, Eid remains an extremely important and vibrant celebration in South Africa. In cities such as Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, Muslims gather for early morning Eid prayers, family visits and festive meals, and donations and community outreach. Large congregational prayers, often held in mosques or open grounds, bring together diverse communities, reflecting the multicultural fabric of the country. The distribution of Eid among different dates always arouses curiosity. Every year, the discussion “Why do the dates differ” is widely trending online. Although it may seem unusual, this division is actually quite common. In most years, the Gulf countries celebrate Eid earlier and parts of South Asia and Africa celebrate it a day later. This pattern is due to the Moon moving west, meaning it is often visible earlier in the Middle East than in areas further east or south.

The science behind the difference in the date of Eid ul Fitr

One major factor at the root of the variation is the visibility of the Moon. Eid ul Fitr begins on the first day of the Islamic lunar month of Shawwal, determined by the sighting of the crescent moon. If the moon is not seen on the 29th night of Ramzan, then the month automatically completes 30 days.In the case of South Africa, the Moon was astronomically small, weather conditions in some areas made visibility even more difficult and religious authorities preferred certainty over perception. Due to this, the decision was taken to celebrate Eid on Saturday. Not all countries follow the same methodology for determining Eid. Countries like South Africa rely heavily on physical sightings within their borders. Some nations accept sightings from nearby regions or internationally. Others incorporate traditional methods as well as scientific predictions. These differences are rooted in centuries-old interpretations of Islamic jurisprudence – and they still shape how Eid is celebrated today. The difference in dates often raises a broader question: Why can’t the entire Muslim world celebrate Eid on the same day? The answer lies in the balance between unity of faith and diversity of interpretation. Islam allows multiple valid methods for determining the lunar months, meaning that variations are not seen as divisions but as legitimate differences within the tradition. Even though Eid is celebrated on different days, the essence of the festival remains the same across the world.Whether it is Friday or Saturday, Eid represents the end of fasting, gratitude and contemplation, charity and generosity, and community and togetherness. For many families with relatives in different countries, it also means two days of celebration, as they join loved ones celebrating Eid at different times. In a world that is increasingly connected, these differences become more visible but they also highlight the rich diversity within shared global faith.South Africa will celebrate Eid Al Fitr on Saturday, March 21, 2026, joining many countries in the Gulf that celebrate the festival a day later as the moon was not visible locally on Thursday, March 19. Hence, Ramadan completes 30 days and Eid ul Fitr is shifted to Saturday. Whether celebrated on Friday or Saturday, Eid remains a moment of unity, guided by the same moon, even if it is observed on different nights.

Trump says US, Qatar not involved in attack on Iran’s gas field

JERUSALEM/WASHINGTON: Israel’s attack on an Iranian gas field on Wednesday was coordinated with the US but was unlikely to be repeated, three Israeli officials said Wednesday, despite President Donald Trump saying he did not know about it in advance. The attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field followed Iranian air strikes on energy infrastructure in Qatar and across the Middle East, marking the largest escalation in the US-Israeli war on Iran.On Wednesday night, Trump said in a social media post that Washington “knew nothing about this particular attack”. Three Israeli officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private discussions, said Thursday that Israel was not surprised by Trump’s comments. He described the situation as similar to what happened several weeks ago after Israel attacked a fuel depot in Iran. After those attacks, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said that “in that particular case they were not our attacks”.Trump said on Thursday that he has asked his ally, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, not to further attack gas fields in Iran. “I told him, don’t do it, and he won’t do it,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “We have a very good relationship. It’s coordinated, but sometimes he does things that the United States opposes,” Trump said.In a social media post on Wednesday, Trump said Israel had “violently attacked,” attacking a “relatively small portion” of the territory. Qatar also accused Israel of attacking South Pars. “The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was not involved in any way, shape, or form, nor did it have any idea that it was about to occur,” Trump wrote. He accused Iran of retaliating “unfairly and wrongly” against Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities. Iran uses most of its natural gas domestically, but Qatar is the world’s third-largest exporter of liquefied natural gas. The South Pars is part of a larger reservoir that is shared between Qatar and Iran.In his post, Trump vowed that there would be “no further attacks by Israel” on South Pars unless Iran attacks Qatar’s energy facilities. If that happened, he said, the US would “massively blow up” the oil field. Trump said, “I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because it will have a long-term impact on Iran’s future, but if Qatar’s LNG is attacked again, I would not hesitate to do so.”Since the Israeli attack on South Pars, Iranian attacks have caused extensive damage to the world’s largest gas plant in Qatar, targeted a refinery in Saudi Arabia and forced the United Arab Emirates to close gas facilities.Following Iran’s attacks, Gulf Arab countries sought clarification from the Trump administration, with one country contacting US Central Command, a regional source familiar with the matter said. The Pentagon’s Middle East (West Asia) command told the country it was not informed in advance about the Israeli attack, the source said. The person spoke on condition of anonymity and declined to name the country involved. That country then contacted Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, who said that although the attack was not a joint US-Israeli operation, Washington was informed about it ahead of time, the source said. Israel has not publicly accepted responsibility for the attack. The US and Israel have repeatedly tried to highlight their close coordination in their joint air strikes on Iran, but officials from both sides have acknowledged that their objectives were not the same. On Thursday, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said at a House Intelligence Committee hearing that while Israel has focused on “disabling the Iranian leadership”, the United States has focused on destroying Iran’s ballistic missile program and its navy. agencies

Need for indigenous drone production ecosystem for strategic autonomy: Rajnath india news

Need for indigenous drone production ecosystem for strategic autonomy: Rajnath

New Delhi: Defense Minister -Rajnath Singh Thursday stressed the urgent need to create a drone production ecosystem in the country to ensure strategic autonomy, enhance defense preparedness and make the country self-reliant in the field in view of the current geopolitical uncertainties.“India must work in mission mode to emerge as a global hub of indigenous drone manufacturing in the next few years,” Rajnath said during the inaugural session of the National Defense Industry Conclave here.He said the ongoing conflicts ranging from Russia-Ukraine to tensions between Iran and Israel are proof that drone and counter-drone technologies will play an important role in future warfare and ‘self-reliance’ in drone manufacturing is essential not only at the product level, but also at the component level.“From the drone mold to its software, engines and batteries, everything must be manufactured in India. This is no easy task. In most countries where drones are manufactured, a significant number of critical components are currently imported from China,” he said.Rajnath said building the defense industrial ecosystem of any country depends on the contribution of large industries, MSMEs, startups and innovators, but it is also driven by a clear policy of the government to meet the specific defense needs of the country. While he called for active contribution from the private sector, he extended full support to the government to transform India into a global hub for indigenous drone manufacturing. The Minister described iDEX (Innovation for Defense Excellence) and ADITI (Accelerating Development of Innovative Technologies with iDEX) as game-changer initiatives through which start-ups, innovators and MSMEs are provided the opportunity to develop novel solutions to meet the specific requirements of the Defense Forces. He said that “As of February 2026, 676 startups, MSMEs and individual innovators have joined the defense innovation ecosystem since the inception of iDEX in 2018. Overall, 548 contracts have been signed; and 566 challenges have been launched.” Of these, 58 prototypes have been approved for procurement, worth approximately Rs 3,853 crore, he said.Rajnath said, “Additionally, 45 procurement contracts worth approximately Rs 2,326 crore have already been signed. These figures demonstrate that innovation is gradually translating into tangible products and technologies, and the role played by our startups and MSMEs in this transformation is becoming increasingly strong.”

Asked to work on Eid Ul Fitr 2026? Get 50% extra payment; Know your rights and compensation as per UAE law

Asked to work on Eid Ul Fitr 2026? Get 50% extra payment; Know your rights and compensation as per UAE law
Working on Eid Al Fitr 2026 in UAE? Know your legal rights and compensation in the Emirates

As Eid As Ul Fitr is around the corner and millions of people in the UAE are preparing for the celebration, there is an urgent question floating around among workers: Can your employer ask you to work in a public place Holiday And if so, what are your rights? The short answer is yes, you may be asked to do work but not without compensation. This year, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated across the UAE on March 20. With increased economic activity during Eid, retail rush, demand for hospitality and essential services running at full capacity, thousands of workers may find themselves at work, but under UAE labor law, this comes with strict protections and clear rights.

The UAE rule is simple: compensation for work must be paid on Eid al Fitr 2026

Under UAE labor law, public holidays such as Eid Al Fitr are fully paid days off for employees. However, if an employer expects an employee to work on such a day, the law provides two clear options:

  • A substitute day off (compensatory leave)
  • Or extra pay, your regular salary plus at least 50% of your basic Salary for that day

This means that it is not illegal to work on Eid but it is illegal to work without compensation.

What the extra payment for Eid al Fitr 2026 actually looks like in the UAE

The compensation structure is straightforward but often misunderstood. If you work on Eid, you are entitled to:

  • Your full normal pay for the day, plus
  • Additional 50% of your basic daily wage

Alternatively, your employer may offer a day off in lieu, which must be paid in at a later date. This dual-option system allows businesses to operate during peak periods and ensures that employees are fairly rewarded.

Can your employer force you to work on Eid al Fitr 2026 in UAE?

This is where many employees get confused. Employers may require employees to work on public holidays, especially in areas such as:

  • Health care
  • retail
  • hospitality
  • transportation

However, this is only valid if the compensation rules are followed. In simple words, you may not be able to directly refuse work but your employer cannot refuse you work. legal rights. You cannot be asked to work without fair compensation.

What if you are not compensated for your work for Eid Al Fitr 2026 in UAE?

This is where legal protection becomes important. If an employee works on Eid and does not receive additional pay or a compensatory day off, they have the right to take action. Recommended steps include:

  • Raise the issue internally with your employer
  • If not resolved, file a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
  • Officials can mediate disputes and ensure compliance with labor laws.

Can your boss make you work remotely on Eid al-Fitr 2026? UAE law explained

Can your boss make you work remotely on Eid al-Fitr 2026? UAE law explained

This legal backing is what makes UAE labor protections relatively strong in the region. Eid is not just a religious festival, it is also a peak economic period. Across the UAE, malls are packed, restaurants are experiencing record footfalls, travel and transportation are up and delivery services are on the rise. This means that businesses often require full operational capacity, even during public holidays. As a result, many employees, especially in customer-facing roles, are more likely to be asked to work during Eid than at other times of the year.

Gap between law and awareness on Eid Al Fitr 2026 in UAE

Despite clear legal provisions, many workers are unaware of their rights. Common misconceptions include:

  • Thinking that overtime rules apply automatically (they don’t, public holiday rules are different)
  • Believing Extra Pay Is Optional (It’s Not)
  • The belief that refusing to work is always permitted (depending on job requirements)

It is this gap between law and awareness that such interpreters are trending every Eid-ul-Fitr season. Eid work regulations fall under the UAE’s Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, which regulates private sector employment. Key provisions include:

  • Public holidays are paid holidays
  • Working these days requires compensation
  • Employers must apply the rules fairly and consistently

This law is designed to balance business continuity, employee welfare and economic productivity. To understand how this works, consider some common situations in which a retail employee working on Eid al Fitr 2026 should receive either extra pay or a day off afterward. Office workers asked to work remotely on public holidays still count as working. Not paying any compensation to the employee is a violation and is grounds for a complaint.Eid ul Fitr is around the corner and employees want clarity now. Extra pay can significantly increase earnings, especially for low-income workers. Many workers are only now learning about their rights. Discussions about “working on Eid” have increased on social media, which has further aggravated the issue.

Working on Eid Ul Fitr 2026? Here's what you are legally entitled to in the UAE

Working on Eid Ul Fitr 2026? Here’s what you are legally entitled to in the UAE

Eid al Fitr is one of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar, it is a time of prayer, family and celebration but for many workers, especially migrants, it is also a working day. The law recognizes this reality by ensuring that those working during Eid are fairly compensated while preserving both economic activity and worker dignity.

What should UAE workers do now?

With clarity in the rules, employees are advised to:

  1. Check their work schedule in advance
  2. Confirm compensation terms with employers
  3. Keep records of hours worked
  4. Speak up if your rights are not met.

Being informed is the first step toward ensuring fair treatment. Working during Eid is legal in the UAE but only under strict conditions. Public holidays are paid, compensation for work is required and employees have legal recourse. At its core, the law sends a clear message that celebrating Eid al Fitr may be optional for some workers but fair compensation is not.
