See: Israel’s ‘Small India’ shaken by missile attack, more than 40 injured in Iran’s attack; Videos show chaos

Iranian missile attacks on southern Israel have caused scenes of chaos in Dimona, known as “Little India” for its large Indian-origin population, as video circulating online shows the moment a ballistic missile struck residential areas. At least 47 people were injured in Dimona after a missile carrying a heavy weapon hit a community building, damaging nearby houses and causing panic among residents. The injured included a 12-year-old boy who was in critical condition after being hit by shrapnel, while dozens of others suffered minor injuries or trauma as they fled to shelters. Emergency responders described “widespread damage and chaos”, with footage showing buildings on fire and debris strewn across the streets.Trump gives Iran 48-hour ultimatum to open Strait of Hormuz – follow live updates
Dimona, home to Israel’s nuclear research facility, has long been nicknamed “Little India” due to its strong Indian-Jewish community, many of whom trace their roots to Maharashtra, according to a PTI report. The city’s streets are lined with Indian shops, Marathi is widely spoken, and cultural ties with India are deeply ingrained. A few hours later, a second missile struck the nearby city of Arad, causing increased damage. In both cities, more than 100 people, including children, were injured, many of whom are in critical condition. Israeli officials said that air defense systems attempted to intercept the missiles but failed, resulting in a direct attack that caused widespread destruction. The Israeli military has launched an investigation into the interception failure and said the incident “will be investigated”. Officials confirmed that interceptors were deployed but the incoming threats could not be successfully neutralized.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described it as a “very difficult evening”, adding that he had spoken to the mayor of Arad and ordered full government assistance for those affected. “We are determined to continue attacking our enemies on all fronts,” he said, urging citizens to follow security instructions.Israel’s Foreign Ministry accused Iran of deliberately targeting civilians, and called the attacks “a blatant war crime” and “pure terrorism.” Opposition leaders, including former prime ministers, also expressed solidarity with residents, calling the attacks a “major disaster”.However, Iran said the attack on Dimona was a response to an earlier attack on its Natanz nuclear facility, although Israel denied involvement in that incident. The UN nuclear watchdog confirmed it has no sign of damage to Israel’s nuclear site, but called for “maximum military restraint” to avoid further escalation.

The IDF said it had previously revealed during “Operation Rising Lion” in June 2025 that Iran wanted to develop missiles with a range of 4,000 kilometers, which it said would threaten “dozens of countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.” Iran declined to pursue such capabilities at the time.“We have continued to say this: the Iranian terrorist regime poses a global threat,” the statement said.It said Iran has carried out attacks against 12 countries in the region and continues to develop capabilities that “pose a much broader threat.”This has happened when the conflict continues in the Middle East and both Israel and Iran are attacking each other.

War stretches flights, crews and wallets india news

War stretches flights, crews and pockets

Passengers sitting (right or left) can see the Pyramids of Giza. weary pilots of air india Flights to and from the West now often make this declaration when flying over Egypt on extremely long routes imposed by the US–Israel war against Iran on days with clear visibility.Since February 28, going west from India – except for the west coast of North America – means flying over the Arabian Sea while avoiding Pakistan (for Indian carriers) and Iranian airspace (for all); Then turn right over Oman to Muscat, Saudi Arabia or beyond, via Cairo to Europe, Britain and North America. It is the same way back also. The war-zone air traffic corridor covering the airfields of Afghanistan (starting from Pakistan for Indian carriers), Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel has a deserted look due to almost all the aircraft flying under this route. Like parts of Saudi Arabia, utility corridors in the region are also being affected by the war.Impact: Air India’s Delhi-London non-stop flight time has increased by 50% from around eight hours after the Iran war – when both Pakistan (for Indian carriers) and Afghanistan airspace remained open – to now more than 12 hours. Its Mumbai-New York 13-14 hour non-stop has become onestop via Rome and the journey time is now close to 21 hours. IndiGo uses wide-body aircraft from Norway’s Norse Atlantic airline, which completely bypasses West Asia as advised by the EU regulator. They fly over the Arabian Sea to Africa, and then turn right to fly north to Cairo and beyond. Same route for everyone in return.Since February 28, travelers have faced a steep rise in airfares and a sharp decline in travel options due to the Iran war, while the Big Three – Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad – are out of the picture for the time being. Airlines have seen their operating costs skyrocket, less attractive Gulf flights, and fatigued pilots at the controls of their widebody planes. Here’s how it’s affecting various stakeholders:

.

Indian operatorShrinkable Network: Their daily flights between India and the West used to be between 400 and 500, this number has fallen sharply since February 28 due to the closure of airports in Bahrain and Doha, while in the UAE they remain open sporadically and offer slots. There are regular flights and air flights to only a few places in the region these days, such as parts of Saudi Arabia and Muscat.Half of IndiGo’s 300 daily international flights were to the west and have now dropped to a handful. Air India Express had 110 daily West Asia connections, which has now reduced to 50 “ad-hoc” connections. Air India had 254 weekly scheduled flights to West Asia and that has come down to 30-40. Akasa and SpiceJet have also seen a reduction in their Gulf flights.Rising Operating Costs: Since the Iran war began, aviation fuel (ATF) prices have effectively risen every time the rupee has hit a new low, which is now a daily feature. It currently costs around $817 per kilo liter (KL) in both Delhi and Mumbai – up from around $779 last month. But the INR-to-USD exchange rate has gone from Rs 91 to Rs 93.30. So all dollar-denominated costs – like lease rent and maintenance – have gone up.On top of that, routes have become much longer, meaning expensive fuel will cost a lot more. A Boeing 787 burns about five tons of fuel every hour and a B777 burns about 7.5 tons of fuel. If the flight time is increased by two hours, an additional 10-15 tons are burned per flight. At $817 per tonne and Rs 93.30 per tonne for international flights by domestic airlines, the additional expenditure on fuel alone comes to Rs 80,000 per hour. Air India has 358 weekly flights to the West – covering Europe, the UK and North America – which are still operating.Indian operators upload more fuel than usual from India these days so that planes can return home with passengers instead of getting stranded if fighting escalates in West Asia. More fuel means heavier aircraft. And the heavier the plane, the more fuel it burns.“At the current operating costs, it does not make sense to operate flights to the west. We’re doing this as a commitment to keeping our flyers engaged. Flying a plane has always meant challenging nature, with heavy metal tubes flying through the air. Now, after the Iran war, they are challenging economics also,” said a senior official. Airlines’ appeals to the government for some relief on ATF excise duty or VAT have so far been in vain. The effect of this is shocking for everyone, especially the Maharaja. AI Group, IndiGo and Akasa have imposed fuel surcharge ranging from Rs 199 to $200 on their flights. Insurance costs for flights to West Asia have increased to Rs 30-40 lakh for narrow-body return trips and Rs 90 lakh to Rs 1 crore for wide-body round trips.tired crewSince the aircraft are flying very long routes to and from the West, Air India sought and received exemption from flight duty time limit rules for its crew from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The regulator has now allowed its pilots to fly for up to 11.5 hours, meaning two pilots can conduct longer flights without the need for a third pilot who would allow them to take turns taking rest en route. The pilots have been flying the long route since last April, when Pakistan’s airspace was closed during Operation Sindoor. The Iran war has made an already long road even longer.AI’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner pilots have been most affected as the plane’s cockpit seat allows limited reclining due to a safety issue. “We are pushing our bodies to the limits of human endurance,” said one B787 pilot, a sentiment echoed by others. “Imagine sitting in an uncomfortable office chair for 11.5 hours straight and being 100% present during the entire duration as we navigate GPS jamming and flying close to war zones from airspace near Pakistan to beyond Turkey. Airlines should be asked to increase pilot availability. God forbid, if something goes wrong, just blame the pilot. It’s a normal script.”Both AI and DGCA are aware of the difficulties, which they attribute to extraordinary circumstances. AI has replaced 30 B777 pilots on the Dreamliner and they are expected to start flying in two months.“We have formally sought coordinated flight time (FT) and flight duty period (FDP) exemptions from the DGCA. These exemptions are to be used only as long as the current Middle East airspace restrictions are in effect and are critical to maintaining schedule integrity and minimizing passenger inconvenience… All such exemptions are supported by safety risk assessments and will be implemented strictly as per the approved conditions,” AI’s senior VP (flight operations), Captain Manish Uppal, said recently. said in a mail to the pilots.unrest affects passengersWhen the Iran war broke out, travelers were forced to spend huge sums of money to reach their destination and India was no exception. An Indian student, who came to Delhi from Ireland in mid-February for his grandfather’s funeral, paid Rs 1.8 lakh for a one-way ticket to return to college. Many people have put their bookings on Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways for this summer. If the war does not end quickly and those airlines do not resume flights soon thereafter, airfares over other options in India will seriously decline in the summer travel months starting from early April.add capacityGulf carriers have historically carried a significant share of traffic between India and the rest of the world through their mega hubs such as Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi. The sudden unavailability of the Big Three has created a void, as passengers who had already booked with them for travel after February 28 are now looking for alternatives and thus, those making new bookings are pursuing the same limited options.Air India is adding as many additional flights to the West as possible. Lufthansa deployed its 500-seat Airbus A380 instead of the 280-seat A350 on the Munich-Delhi and Munich-Mumbai routes besides increasing frequency between Chennai and Frankfurt. SWISS will operate a second daily service between Delhi and Zurich from March 19-24. Lufthansa is considering the option of bringing more group airlines into India. Now only Lufthansa, Swiss and ITA fly to India; There are other group carriers that do not yet do this, including Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Discover and Eurowings.Away from flights, some of the ways in which India is being harmed by war…medical equipment : : Medical supplies like syringes and hospital disposables are being threatened by rising medical-grade plastic, freight and gas costs. Prolonged disruption could lead to production cuts and rising pricesPharma: Pharmaceutical plants in states have shut down due to propane shortages. Production of some essential medicines affectedFertilizer: Ammonia and urea production being affected ahead of Kharif season due to LNG disruptionRestaurant/Catering: Commercial LPG shortage is increasing costs and disrupting operationsAC: LPG and petrochemical shortages hurting air conditioner production just ahead of summer seasonAutomobile: Expensive components, gas shortage putting pressure on auto production

Numerology Predictions Today, March 22, 2026: Read Your Personal Forecast for Numbers 1 to 9

Numerology Predictions Today, March 22, 2026: Read Your Personal Forecast for Numbers 1 to 9

1 (People who are born on 1st, 10th, 19th and 28th of any month are ruled by numerology number 1)Today gives preference to teamwork that is practical, not demonstrative. If you’re dealing with something revolving around a partnership, a client agreement, or even a simple household agreement about chores and expenses, this is a good day to lay it out in clear terms. You will do best when you lead with fairness, not force. A quick meeting or call can fix work that could not go on for weeks, provided you listen carefully while speaking. Keep your promises realistic; It’s better to commit to a solid delivery than impress with a long list. Money matters are better when responsibilities are shared and recorded, so save a screenshot, confirm over email, or write it down. While traveling or while talking in the corridor, you may meet someone who will be useful to you later. Stay warm, but keep boundaries clear. Today compromise brings stability and stability brings development.Lucky Number: 9Auspicious colours: red, maroon, pinkTip for the day: Write down the conditions before you shake hands.2 (People who are born on 2nd, 11th, 20th or 29th of any month are governed by numerology number 2)Today your emotional level is elevated and this is not a bad thing. You may desire closeness, reassurance or simply a softer tone from the people around you. Say what you need in clear language, rather than waiting for others to guess. A gentle family conversation over tea, or an honest message to a friend, can clear the air instantly. This sensitivity also wants an outlet, so give it an outlet. Music while you cook, a short sketch, journaling after work, or even neatly organizing your study notes can be surprisingly therapeutic. If you’re in a relationship, avoid silently testing the other person; Ask, listen and respond. Choose collaboration over competition in the workplace, but don’t take on extra work just to be liked. Your best moments today come from honest connection and a small act of self-expression that feels like you, not like the audience.Lucky Number: 1Auspicious colors: Red, orange, yellow, goldenTip for the day: State your need clearly, without apologies or drama.

3 (People born on 3rd, 12th, 21st or 30th of any month have the root number 3)If paperwork, permissions or official channels are involved, temper your expectations today. Things may move slowly, and slow may feel like someone is wasting your time. A pending reimbursement, a legal question, or a business follow-up may bounce between departments with vague answers and missing attachments. Don’t let irritation motivate you to sign, pay, or commit to getting it over with. Read each line, especially the date, penalty and renewal sections. If you have a meeting with a consultant or salesperson, treat it as information gathering, not a decision day. Keep copies of receipts and messages and double-check names and spelling before submitting the form. Use the wait time wisely: update your files, clear your inbox, and list the questions you still need answered. Patience is your best protection today, and delay may save you from a costly mistake later.Lucky Number: 2Auspicious colors: White, cream, light blueTip for the day: Delay signing until you understand the meaning of each section.4 (People who are born on 4th, 13th, 22nd or 31st of any month are governed by numerology number 4)This is a strong day for practical details, especially money matters, which require consistent action. If you’ve applied for a loan, credit enhancement, or money for business growth, don’t assume the file will move forward on its own. Call, send reminder mails and ask which document is still pending. Your efforts matter today, and a proactive approach may bring a favorable response sooner than expected. Have your figures ready: estimated costs, repayment plan and a realistic timeline. Also at home, you may feel the urge to organize future expenses, perhaps planning repairs or a new appliance. Avoid casual borrowing among friends; Keep it professional and clean. If an elder or mentor gives advice, take it seriously, even if it seems conservative. This day rewards discipline and perseverance. A well-crafted follow-up can open up the next step for you.Lucky Number: 3Lucky colors: yellow, pink, light purpleTip for the day: Follow through, and keep all documents in order.5 (People who are born on 5th, 14th or 23rd of any month have their radix number 5)Today your mind is on the long term. You’ll think about where your career is going, how to boost your savings or what skills can put you ahead. The mood is upbeat, and ideas come immediately, but it is also a place where you can travel. You may be tempted to agree to a plan without checking the details or buy something for “future use” without reading the warranty and return rules. If you’re comparing courses, memberships, or travel bookings, stop and scan the fine print twice. A friend’s enthusiastic suggestion may seem right, but your life is not their life. Keep your calendar realistic too; Overbooking today may result in cancellation tomorrow. Taking a short walk after lunch can calm the mind and help you sort the practical thoughts from the fascinating ones. Yes, think big, but act small and precise. Your best decision today will be the one you verify, not the one you make in a hurry.Lucky Number: 4Auspicious Colour: Blue, Grey, SilverTip for the day: Check the terms carefully before signing up or getting paid.6 (People who are born on 6th, 15th or 24th of any month are governed by numerology number 6)You have lots of energy today, but this may manifest as impatience as the day feels slow. Small irritations, a late cab, a colleague repeating the same thing, a family member asking the same question can result in a sharp response. The important thing is to recognize the first increase in your tone and step back before it becomes a pattern. You can still be direct, just keep it clean. If you have a workout planned, do it; Physical exertion will help you relieve fatigue and return to your normal heat. In friendships and close relationships, choose repair over victory. A quick apology, or a simple “I’m stressed today, give me a minute”, can prevent unnecessary hurt. Avoid sending heated messages; Talk in person or at least on call. Your drive is useful for getting things done, but your bonds need to be handled more gently. Lead with caution, not speed.Lucky Number: 5Lucky color: green, turquoiseTip for the day: Pause before responding, especially to loved ones.7 (People who are born on 7th, 16th or 25th of any month are affected by numerology number 7)Power dynamics have come into focus today, and you’ll see them even in the most ordinary places. A team discussion, a family decision, or a group chat can quietly turn into a question about who has the final say. Your challenge is to maintain your position without turning it into an ego competition. If you’re in charge, share credit and keep instructions clear. If you’re not, speak with facts and calm timing, not sarcasm. People will test limits today, sometimes unknowingly, so be consistent. Avoid the temptation to “teach someone a lesson”; It wastes your energy and creates long memories. A good trick is to ask a pointed question, then remain silent and let the answer come. In the evening, you may feel like staying away from the noise and focusing on your studies or planning. He is healthy until he becomes angry. Balance authority with humility, and you’ll come across as respectful, not angry.Lucky number: 6Lucky color: Blue, pink, sky blueTip for the day: Be firm, but don’t turn it into arrogance.8 (People who are born on 8th, 17th or 26th of any month have their radix number 8)Today your mind leans towards meaning. Regular social interactions can feel draining, and you may prefer a quiet corner, a serious book, or a thoughtful conversation with an older or well-educated person. If you go to the temple, offer regular prayers, or even do a few minutes of silent meditation, it will satisfy you more than any entertainment. You may also be drawn to philosophical study, listening to a sermon, or revisiting a piece of writing that once shaped your thinking. Don’t judge yourself for wanting to distance yourself from parties or impromptu plans; This isn’t exactly that kind of day. At work, keep your conversations respectful and concise, and keep your deep focus on tasks that require strategy. If someone tries to drag you into gossip, exit politely. Your inner life is active today, and it can sharpen your decisions if you protect your time. Choose depth over noise and by evening you will feel settled.Lucky number: 7Auspicious colors: Purple, violet, whiteTip for the day: Spend time in quiet study, not in idle gossip.9 (People who are born on 9th, 18th or 27th of any month are governed by numerology number 9)Caution is the theme today, especially when it comes to speed, equipment and distractions. If you are travelling, do not multitask. Put the phone away, keep an eye on the road while crossing the road and avoid the temptation to take shortcuts on a two-wheeler or hurry up the stairs. Even at home, pay attention to small safety habits: turn off the gas properly, mop up wet areas on the floor, and handle blades and hot utensils with care. Excitement can make you clumsy, so keep your movements and speech slow. If someone provokes you, do not answer in the same anger; This only increases the risk. Work may bring up a small crisis that seems urgent, but often a clear mind and double-checking will resolve it. Hydrate, eat on time and avoid skipping meals, as low energy can lead to irritability. Today gives results of calm, steady behavior. Keep yourself safe by taking simple precautions, and the day will go by quite smoothly.Lucky Number: 8Auspicious colors: Brown, black, dark blueTip for the day: Go slow; Safety beats speed every time.

Adequate coal reserves to meet growing energy needs: Government | india news

बढ़ती ऊर्जा जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त कोयला भंडार: सरकारIndia reached one billion tonne coal production level on March 20. It had recorded its highest-ever coal production of 1,048 million tonnes in the 2024-25 financial year.“This important milestone underlines India’s growing self-reliance in the energy sector and its commitment to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply to key industries,” the coal ministry said in a statement. The ministry said the increased and sustained coal production levels have enabled the country to effectively meet growing energy demands and allowed the power sector to maintain record stock levels in coal-based thermal power plants.Earlier this month, the government recorded 200MT coal production from commercial and captive coal mines. While over 53 MT of coal is available in thermal power plants – enough to meet about 23 days of demand at the current rate of consumption – pithead coal reserves in various captive and commercial mines are estimated to be around 147 MT, apart from stocks in transit, ports and storage. According to the Central Electricity Authority, power demand is likely to reach 265-270GW this year – with a higher quantity of coal being required during the summer months as power demand increases due to increased use of ACs. Although the share of renewable energy has reached about 52%, with about 250 GW of installed capacity, coal-based thermal power dominates India’s electricity generation.
