He said, “Rahul Gandhi is a national leader, yet he lacks the basic awareness of a common local Congress worker in Kerala; he refuses to learn from experience or mistakes. It is difficult to understand how he has fallen so low.” “Rahul Gandhi and his Congress are the ‘B-team’ of the BJP in the country, and yet their stand is being adopted across India,” he said. The comments come a day after Rahul Gandhi accused the ruling Left Democratic Alliance (LDF) of striking a secret pact with the BJP. Launching the United Democratic Alliance (UDF) campaign in Kozhikode, Rahul said there are only two parties in Kerala politics.Rahul said, “There are actually only two parties fighting here in Kerala. One is the UDF alliance, and the other is the partnership between the BJP and the LDF. The UDF unites the people, listens to them, and embraces them and empowers them. The LDF and their hidden partners divide the people and crush them.”He also raised questions on the job related promises of the state government. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s National Employment Pledge and the Kerala government’s commitments, he said, “Modi ji had promised 2 crore jobs nationally. The Kerala Chief Minister had promised 40 lakh jobs in the state, and after a decade, you find that he has not given a single job to the people; in fact, he has destroyed jobs.”The Congress leader further said that both BJP and LDF do not consider themselves accountable to the people. “Neither the BJP nor the LDF believe that they are accountable to the people. They do not believe that the people of Kerala should be able to ask them questions,” he said.Kerala will go to polls in a single phase on April 9, with counting taking place on May 4. UAE airport updates for March 26, 2026: Flight delays, cancellations as rainy weather disrupts Dubai, Abu Dhabi travel

UAE airport updates for March 26, 2026: Flight delays, cancellations as rainy weather disrupts Dubai, Abu Dhabi travel
UAE flights cancelled? What travelers need to know about current delays and cancellations

As the unsettled weather continues across the UAE, travel disruption is no longer limited to the streets and city life, but has now spread into the skies, triggering a wave of flight delays, cancellations and urgent travel advisories from major airlines. For thousands of passengers planning to fly to or from hubs such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the situation has become volatile, unpredictable and at times chaotic.

A tumultuous week for UAE aviation

The latest updates from airlines and airport officials reveal a system under pressure. Carriers including flydubai and Air Arabia have issued advisories warning that unstable weather conditions, including rain, strong winds and low visibility, could disrupt flight operations at major UAE airports.Airlines are urging passengers to:

  • Check flight status before going to the airport
  • Expect delays or rescheduling
  • Allow extra time for travel and airport procedures

Even regular flights are being affected, with some facing long wait times both on the ground and onboard aircraft due to weather-related disruptions.

Flight delays, diversions and a ripple effect beyond the UAE

Weather-related disruptions in aviation rarely occur in isolation and this time is no different. Across the UAE, flights are being delayed and sometimes diverted, airport schedules are constantly being adjusted and ground operations are slowed due to safety protocols. At Dubai International Airport, real-time data also flagged “significant and growing” delays, highlighting the strain on one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs. The ripple effect has spread beyond the UAE, affecting connecting flights across the Gulf, transit passengers traveling between Europe, Asia and Africa, and airline schedules already reeling from earlier disruptions.

Not just the weather: a delicate recovery phase in the UAE

What makes the current situation more complicated is time. UAE aviation is still in a gradual recovery phase after disruptions in March due to regional instability and airspace restrictions amid the Iran vs US-Israel war. Airports such as Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International had recently resumed limited operations after earlier suspension.

UAE flight delays and cancellations: Weather disrupts Dubai, Abu Dhabi travel

UAE flight delays and cancellations: Weather disrupts Dubai, Abu Dhabi travel

Airlines including Emirates and Etihad are operating on reduced or adjusted schedules rather than at full capacity. This means that the system has less buffer capacity, making it more sensitive to fresh disruptions such as bad weather.UAE is not alone. Across the Middle East, more than 1,200 flights were canceled and hundreds of flights were delayed at major hubs such as Dubai, Doha and Riyadh due to bad weather earlier this month. Such large-scale disruption shows how quickly aviation networks can be affected when a weather system is intense, especially in areas where multiple hubs are tightly interconnected.

Stranded passengers and growing uncertainty at UAE airports

For many travelers, the disruption is more than an inconvenience. With recent reports indicating thousands of passengers stranded or delayed, hotels across Dubai have seen a rise in the number of long-term stays and transit passengers are facing longer than expected stays. The uncertainty has also led to confusion, especially for those with connecting flights or tight itineraries.Although rain may seem minor, aviation operates under strict safety limitations. Unstable weather can reduce visibility for takeoff and landing, create wind shear and turbulence risks and slow ground handling and runway operations. Even brief weather events can cause extensive delays as aircraft rotations and crew schedules become out of sync. The unstable weather has previously caused disruption to regional airspace, with UAE aviation operating in high-alert, limited capacity mode. The airports (DXB and DWC) are open but under pressure, operating but hampered by delays which are “significant and increasing” in departures and arrivals. The main advice is to travel only when your flight is confirmed as the reality on the ground is marked by slow processing, long queues and widespread delays. Dubai’s aviation system is functioning but with less efficiency due to weather and earlier disruptions.

UAE aviation chaos amid bad weather and fragile recovery

UAE aviation chaos amid bad weather and fragile recovery

Other UAE airports, including Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Fujairah International Airport, are undergoing partial recovery and have resumed limited operations, so check directly with airlines before traveling as smaller airports are operational but not completely stable.

Emirates

  • Current Status: Schedule of operations reduced for 100+ destinations; Some minor cancellations (~5%) are still reported
  • Advice: Passengers traveling during inclement weather will need to allow additional time to reach the airport; Check flight status near departure time
  • Passenger Assistance: Free rebooking and refund for affected passengers

In short, flights are operating but delays and last minute changes are expected.

Etihad Airways

  • Current Status: Conducting a limited and carefully controlled program; Previously complete suspension has now reduced but is not completely back to normal.
  • Advice: Do not travel to the airport without confirmation; Monitor updates closely due to changing circumstances
  • Passenger Flexibility: Re-booking allowed for extended dates (up to mid-May in some cases)

In short, there is a gradual improvement but flights are still operating at less than full capacity.

flydubai

  • Current Status: running a reduced schedule after an earlier suspension; Some routes are still affected by weather and airspace problems
  • Advice: Flights may be delayed or rescheduled; Customers encouraged to rebook within flexible windows
  • Passenger Options: Free change within a specified period (often up to 20 days from the original date)

In short, flights are operational but inconsistent so expect variability by route.

air arabia

  • Current Status: Operating limited flights subject to approval
  • Advice: Some flights are still canceled or pending confirmation; Passengers will be informed directly if affected
  • Passenger Assistance: Re-booking and refund available for interrupted bookings

In short, flights are on limited operations so check before each leg of your journey.

international airlines

Several global carriers have adjusted UAE routes:

  • British Airways – Flexible rebooking for UAE routes
  • Lufthansa – Dubai flights temporarily suspended
  • air Canada – UAE routes canceled for extended period
  • KLM – Warned of ongoing disruptions

In short, international connectivity is still recovering, so expect ripple effects. It’s not just about rain. This disruption is driven by the dual impact of unstable weather (rain, wind and poor visibility affecting take-offs and landings) and regional airspace instability (first airspace closures and flight suspensions and then ongoing re-routing and security restrictions). Together, these have created a fragile aviation system with limited buffer capacity.

What should travelers in UAE do right now

The message from the airlines has been consistent and urgent. Travelers are being advised to:

  • Keep an eye on official airline channels for updates
  • Avoid arriving at the airport without confirmed flight status
  • Prepare for last minute changes
  • arrive earlier than usual
  • Stay in constant touch with the airline

In some cases, airlines are offering free rescheduling, refund options for canceled flights and flexible travel policies during the disruption window. Travel experts also warn that rebooking options may be limited due to high demand and low flight frequency.Officials and airlines are repeating the same advice:UAE aviation has not shut down but is operating below full capacity. Recovery is not happening immediately, but in phases. More than 50 flights recently resumed, but the schedule is unstable and subject to sudden changes. If you are flying in or out of the UAE right now, your flight may still operate, but not as planned. Amidst volatile weather and long-lasting airspace disruptions, UAE aviation is in a transition phase, where flights are operating but predictability is low and flexibility is essential. In short, it is not a shutdown but a controlled disturbance. The outlook remains cautiously optimistic. Meteorological forecasts suggest that the volatile weather conditions will gradually subside by the weekend and flight operations should begin to return to normal in phases. However, experts warn that a full recovery may take longer, as airlines work through backlogs and rescheduling challenges. The current situation highlights broader changes in global aviation. Travel is no longer just about the schedule, it’s about adaptability. Amidst weather volatility, airspace restrictions and operational disruptions, air travel is becoming increasingly dynamic, requiring passengers to stay informed and flexible. For travelers flying from the UAE this week, expect delays, stay updated and plan ahead. While airports remain operational, the combination of volatile weather and an already delicate recovery phase has created a perfect storm for disruption.

“The way the continuously corrupt government is running in Puducherry is really worrying. If you want to get any work done, you have to pay 30% commission. Five years have passed; BJP is in power at the Center and in the state, yet why did Puducherry not get statehood?” Sharma said.Expressing concern over unemployment, he claimed that youth in Puducherry are struggling to find jobs while liquor is easily available. IPL: LSG owner credits Jay Shah for IPL surge, Lalit Modi asks him to refresh his memory

Indian Premier League founder Lalit Modi hit out at Sanjiv Goenka after the Lucknow Super Giants owner credited former Board of Control for Cricket in India chairman Jay Shah for the growth of the league. Goenka, who praised Shah’s vision of building a strong foundation for the IPL, was called by Modi at the X on the morning of Thursday, March 26.

Goenka’s comments come after two IPL franchises – Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore – were sold to high-profile consortiums for over USD 1 billion. For example, RCB has seen this Its valuation has increased almost 37 times since it was bought by Vijay Mallya in 2008.

Goenka told X that the skyrocketing valuation is a result of the underlying structure of the IPL.

“The way the broadcast and digital rights were structured. The governance that gave brands the confidence to invest at the premium level. Much of this reflects Jay Shah’s vision,” Goenka said.

Comments did not look good Modi is widely considered the architect of the League.

Modi replied, “Really, this guy has actually lost the memory of who conceived the model. That’s fine. He just lives in his own world.”

birth of ipl

Origin of Indian Premier League It can be traced back to the early 2000s, when the idea of a franchise-based T20 competition first began to take shape.

One of the earliest defining moments came in December 2003, when Lalit Modi, then an outsider in cricket administration, announced his intention to enter the game. Over the next two years, with political support and structural changes within Rajasthan cricket, Modi became the President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, giving him a foothold within the system.

The concept of a city-based league initially failed to gain popularity within the Board of Control for Cricket in India. However, the scenario changed dramatically with the launch of the Indian Cricket League (ICL) by Subhash Chandra. The privately funded T20 league, featuring a mix of international and domestic players, has threatened to disrupt the BCCI’s monopoly on the game.

Faced with the possibility of losing players and business control, the BCCI was forced to take action. By then, Modi had secured a position on the board with the support of Sharad Pawar, who had taken over as BCCI president.

In September 2007, the IPL was officially announced, supported by both the BCCI and the International Cricket Council. The timing proved crucial, as India’s victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup the same year helped legitimize the format and generate immediate interest.

Despite initial skepticism, the league found investors, with eight franchises sold in its first auction. What started as a bold experiment soon became one of the most powerful sports properties in the world.

Gold, Silver Price Forecast Today (March 26, 2026): Will gold rise to Rs 1.55 lakh/10 gram and silver reach Rs 2.60 lakh/kg?
Gold looks set to extend its rally towards 155,000 levels in the upcoming sessions. (AI image)

Gold and Silver Price Forecast Today: Abhilash Koikkara, Head of Forex and Commodities, Nuvama Professional Clients Group, says that gold and silver prices may continue to rise in the coming sessions.

mcx gold price outlook

On the weekly time frame, MCX Gold has bounced back from recent lows, finding support near the 30-week moving average, indicating the resumption of an uptrend after a brief decline. The metal is displaying an intermediate bullish trend, potentially creating a buying window. However, a strong close below key support could trigger a more pronounced correction. Nevertheless, the broad bullishness remains intact as long as prices remain above recent swings. In the coming week, the area around the weekly low of 137,000 is likely to serve as a key support area, underscoring its technical importance. Any movement towards this level could attract new buying interest, limiting near-term downside risk. As long as prices remain above this mark, the broad bullish structure is expected to remain intact. However, the bullish scenario will be negated if it closes below this level.Gold looks set to extend its rally towards 155,000 levels in the upcoming sessions. This upward move would signal a bounce off support and could sustain bullish momentum in the near term. Furthermore, continued strength in price action supports the positive outlook and suggests the recovery may continue. In short, gold maintains a bullish bias supported by a positive underlying trend that points to the possibility of further upside. As long as prices remain above the key support at $137,000, the broader bullish structure should hold. With momentum indicators aligning and sentiment remaining favourable, the metal is likely to trade with a positive bias and continue its upward trend in the coming sessions.

  • Target: 155,000
  • Stop Loss: 137,000

mcx silver price outlook

From a weekly perspective, silver has recovered its support base and continues to trade above an important moving average. After bouncing off the recent lows, the price structure shows a positive trend. Since the larger trend remains up, short-term declines could provide opportunities for accumulation, as long as last week’s lows are not broken. Market participants should align their positions with the dominant trend and consider placing protective stop-loss levels close to the latest weekly low to effectively control risk. The market started the week on a strong note, recovering from recent lows and indicating continued upside strength. The positive outlook is likely to remain intact as long as prices remain above key weekly support levels. The first line of support is seen near last week’s low of 217,000, and a definite close below this point could challenge the current positive bias. Until then, short-term corrections are expected to spur buying interest, allowing the broader uptrend to continue. On the positive side, silver looks set to retest the breakdown levels around the $260,000 resistance zone in the near to medium term. Continued moves towards this area will strengthen the ongoing bullish trend, supported by stable momentum and supportive technical indicators. Overall, the broader bullishness is expected to remain intact as long as prices remain above the 217,000 support zone, potentially opening the door to further gains amid improving positive sentiment.

Dh1,000 fine, black points, vehicle seizure: UAE's strict new rules for car owners in the emirate explained
Do you think your car looks good? You can now face a Dh1,000 fine in the UAE

A new warning from UAE authorities is cautioning motorists and this time it’s not about speeding or seatbelts. Instead, the focus of attention has shifted to the growing urban nuisance of loud vehicles and illegally modified cars, which are disrupting public peace in cities. From engine revving late at night to “explosive” exhaust sounds echoing through residential neighborhoods, it may seem like a trend among car enthusiasts is now in the crosshairs of law enforcement.

a Dh1,000 Good And more than the money at stake drivers in united arab emirates

Motorists driving vehicles that generate excessive noise or have unauthorized modifications will now face tougher penalties, according to the UAE Ministry of Interior. These include:

  • Dh1,000 fine
  • 12 black traffic points
  • Vehicle confiscation for 30 days

Officials have made it clear that it is not just about rules, it is about public convenience and safety. Noise pollution Noise from vehicles, especially in residential areas, has been flagged as a serious concern, with officials saying that such disturbances “cause inconvenience to residents” and disrupt community well-being.

UAE cracks down on loud cars and illegal modifications: Dh1,000 fine and more

UAE cracks down on loud cars and illegal modifications: Dh1,000 fine and more

This latest warning is part of a wider nationwide crackdown on reckless driving and illegal vehicle customization. In emirates like Dubai and Sharjah, police have increased surveillance on the following:

  • Modified exhaust systems designed to produce loud “backfire” sounds
  • Engine and chassis changes without official approval
  • High performance vehicles are being driven aggressively at night

In fact, recent enforcement campaigns have specifically targeted cars producing explosion-like sounds, causing panic even among residents amid heightened regional tensions. Authorities have reassured the public that the noise does not pose a safety threat but remains a serious quality of life issue.

Why is UAE taking this seriously?

This action reflects a shift in how the UAE views road safety not just as a matter of accidents but as a matter of overall urban livability. Authorities are increasingly focusing on reducing noise pollution, maintaining residential peace and preventing reckless driving behavior associated with the modifications. Earlier enforcement campaigns have shown that fines can increase significantly, including in some cases:

  • Fine up to Dh2,000 or more
  • vehicle impound
  • Additional release fees and legal consequences

The clear message is that modifying vehicles without approval is not just a personal choice, it is a regulated activity with serious consequences.

Culture Clash in the UAE: Adaptation vs. Compliance

Car modification has long been a popular trend in the UAE, especially among young drivers and automotive enthusiasts. From performance upgrades to aesthetic changes, customization is often seen as a form of self-expression, but under UAE law, all major modifications require prior approval and unauthorized changes, especially those affecting noise or safety, are illegal.Failure to comply may also:

  • zero insurance coverage
  • repeated fines
  • Consequences of long term penalties for drivers

This is creating a tension between car culture and regulation, which authorities are now actively addressing.

The new enforcement measures are aimed at restoring a sense of peace, especially in densely populated urban areas. Authorities aren’t just imposing fines, they’re also increasing proactive enforcement. This also includes:

  • Patrolling and checkpoints were increased
  • Advanced monitoring systems to detect breaches
  • Public awareness campaigns urge compliance

Police have also called on parents to monitor young drivers and residents to report violations through official channels. At its core, this action is about redefining safe driving in the modern, urban UAE. It is no longer just about avoiding accidents, but about respecting shared spaces, minimizing disruption and ensuring a higher quality of life for all.For motorists in the UAE, the clear message is that loud engines and illegal modifications are no longer just disliked, but they deserve tougher punishment. Now with the trend of fines, black points and vehicle confiscation, the authorities are sending a strong signal that roads are not a stage for noise, they are a shared space that demands responsibility. As enforcement continues to tighten, one thing is for sure, the era of uncontrolled disclosure and reckless customization is fast coming to an end in the UAE.
