स्थानीय स्तर पर चर्चा रही कि घटना से पहले इरशाद की बहन घर आई थी, जिसे उसने ईद के लिए 1500 रुपये दिये थे. इस बात पर पत्नी नूरीन नाराज हो गई और दोनों के बीच बहस शुरू हो गई। परिजनों का कहना है कि इस विवाद के बाद घर का माहौल तनावपूर्ण हो गया था.
