वन विभाग के अधिकारियों का कहना है कि ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में हर शाम बर्फबारी हो रही है. जिसके कारण गोमुख और केदारताल ट्रैक कई स्थानों पर बर्फ और ग्लेशियर के कारण क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए हैं। फिलहाल 18-18 किमी लंबे इन दोनों ट्रैक पर इस माह के अंत तक यातायात शुरू होने की उम्मीद है। लेकिन ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में बर्फबारी से यह समय सीमा बढ़ भी सकती है.

After preserving the viscera, the body was buried at the site using a JCB machine in the presence of forest officials. Officials estimate that the age of the elephant will be around 20 to 25 years.Officials said the exact cause of death could not be determined during the postmortem and would be known only after the viscera report.DFO Apoorva Dixit said that prima facie the death appears to be natural, but other possibilities cannot be ruled out until the report comes.Nearby villagers told that the body was lying there for a long time. ज्योतिर्मठ के उपजिलाधिकारी चन्द्रशेखर वशिष्ठ ने बताया कि गजट अधिसूचना के बाद उपविधि लागू कर दी जायेगी। नगर पंचायत बदरीनाथ के ईओ सुनील पुरोहित ने बताया कि पिछले वर्षों में बदरीनाथ क्षेत्र में कुछ मजदूर मांस के साथ पकड़े गए थे। अब इस पर पूर्ण प्रतिबंध रहेगा। इसके अलावा क्षेत्र में झुग्गी या झोपड़ी बनाने से पहले नगर पंचायत से अनुमति लेना जरूरी होगा. नियमित रूप से शौचालय का निर्माण कराना भी जरूरी होगा.
