A new twist has come in the case of death of female tourist Jyoti Sharma (40) under suspicious circumstances in a five-star hotel. On the basis of sister’s complaint, police registered an FIR against partner Amit under the section of murder. The deceased’s sister Vandana Sharma has alleged that Amit had murdered her sister and he was continuously exploiting her financially and mentally.
On Thursday, deceased Jyoti’s sister Vandana Sharma reached Rudrapur. He told in the complaint given to the SSP that Amit had cheated Jyoti for a long time and exploited her financially and mentally. Amit trapped his sister on the pretext of making her a partner in the hotel business and marrying him. Jyoti had taken a loan of about Rs 38 lakh to start the business. Apart from this, she had also prepared about 200 grams of gold and one and a half kilos of silver as her jewellery, which Amit usurped in the name of partnership.
It is alleged that Amit kept promising marriage repeatedly but when Jyoti became suspicious of his intentions, he started pressurizing her. It is alleged that there was a scuffle between the two in March, after which an FIR was lodged at Lodhi Colony police station in Delhi on March 11. Vandana alleges that on the day of the incident, Amit brought Jyoti to a hotel in Rudrapur on some pretext where she was made to consume beer and cigarettes. After this he died under suspicious circumstances. Family members say that Amit also tried to destroy evidence from the room after the murder.

Despite this, it has come to light that beer was made available late at night and early in the morning. In such a situation, the police is trying to find out which employee bypassed the rules and supplied this. It is also being investigated whether Jyoti was alive at that time or not.
Jyoti had undergone angioplasty
The deceased’s sister also told that Jyoti had undergone angioplasty in November last year and was taking BP medicines. However, the police are not ignoring the possibility of excessive consumption of alcohol and cigarettes. At present, Kotwali Pantnagar police is busy investigating the case keeping all the aspects in mind.
A panel of three doctors did the post-mortem.
On Thursday, Jyoti’s post-mortem was conducted by three panels of doctors. Dr. Madhu Mathur, Dr. MK Tiwari and Dr. Gagandeep Mishra were included in this. The primary reason for death has not been clarified in the report. Police have preserved the viscera which will be sent to the forensic lab.
