रविवार शाम को नैनीताल से लौट रहे पर्यटकों के दो टेंपो ट्रैवलर वाहन अनियंत्रित होकर एक के बाद एक पलट गए। हादसों में 24 पर्यटक घायल हो गए। प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद गंभीर रूप से घायल एक व्यक्ति को एसटीएच हल्द्वानी रेफर कर दिया गया है। हादसे के वास्तविक कारणों का पता नहीं चल पाया है.

शाम करीब सवा छह बजे कालाढूंगी-नैनीताल रोड पर प्रिया बैंड के पास पहला टेंपो ट्रैवलर अनियंत्रित होकर पलट गया। सूचना मिलते ही आपदा प्रबंधन और पुलिस की टीम मौके पर पहुंची. घायलों को अस्पताल ले जाया जा रहा था कि करीब पौने आठ बजे प्रिया बैंड के नीचे एक अन्य टैंपो ट्रैवलर भी पलट गया। एसएसआई पंकज जोशी ने बताया कि घायलों को आपातकालीन सेवा 108 एंबुलेंस, डायल 112 और राजस्व विभाग के वाहनों से सीएचसी कालाढूंगी लाया गया। पुलिस घटना के कारणों की जांच कर रही है।
