विजय शुक्ला का तरीका तो और भी हैरान करने वाला था. मंगलवार और शनिवार को उसने कोई अपराध नहीं किया। वह इन दिनों मंदिरों में दर्शन के बहाने जाता और वहां लगे सोने-चांदी के मुकुट, छत्र, गदाएं और घंटियों पर नजर रखता। वह इन दिनों में पूरी प्लानिंग और रेकी करता था ताकि बाद में आसानी से चोरी की जा सके.

सरगना बाहर खड़ा रहता था, साथी अंदर चला जाता था
जब चोरी का समय आता तो विजय मंदिर के बाहर खड़ा होकर निगरानी करता था। उन्होंने स्वयं गर्भगृह में प्रवेश नहीं किया। अंदर चोरी करने के लिए बाबर शाह को भेजा गया, जो मूर्तियों से कीमती सामान निकाल लेता था। इसके बाद विजय शुक्ला उस सामान को लेकर भाग जाता था.

चोरी का माल आगरा में गलाकर बेचते थे
विजय शुक्ला चोरी के सोने-चांदी के सामान को गलाकर सिल्लियां बना देता था। इसके बाद वह इन्हें आगरा ले जाकर सुनार को बेच देता था। पुलिस ने इस सोनार को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया है, जो चोरी का सामान खरीदता था.

हत्या का आरोपी और पुराना हिस्ट्रीशीटर
एसपी अरुण कुमार सिंह के मुताबिक विजय शुक्ला कोई सामान्य अपराधी नहीं है. करीब 20 साल पहले उसने एक मर्डर किया था और तभी से वह पुलिस की रडार पर था. वह अपनी पहचान बदलकर आगरा में रह रहा था और बाद में चित्रकूट लौट आया और मंदिरों को निशाना बनाना शुरू कर दिया।

कैसे हुआ पूरे गैंग का पर्दाफाश
जांच के दौरान पुलिस ने भरतकूप के राम जानकी मंदिर का मुकुट, अकेलवा बाबा हनुमान मंदिर का छत्र और कर्वी के बाल हनुमान मंदिर की गदा समेत अन्य आभूषण बरामद किये हैं. लगातार हो रही चोरी की घटनाओं के बाद पुलिस और सर्विलांस टीमें सक्रिय हो गईं। सूचना मिलने पर आरोग्यधाम इलाके में एक धर्मशाला में छापेमारी की गई, जहां से विजय शुक्ला, बाबरशाह और एक सोनार को गिरफ्तार किया गया. इस तरह पूरे गिरोह का पर्दाफाश हो गया.
