Without approval, its safety and effectiveness are not confirmed.These eye drops are commonly used to treat dry eyes and irritation, acting like artificial tears to keep the eyes moist and reduce discomfort. But experts warn that using non-approved products — even for routine conditions — can lead to complications.To the public, CDSCO’s advice was clear – use eye drops only on doctor’s advice and buy medicines from reliable sources. What may seem like a simple solution may have risks if it is not cleaned properly.Dr Namrata Sharma, Professor of Ophthalmology, Dr Rajendra Prasad Center for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS-Delhi, said, “Using non-approved eye drops for dry eyes is risky as it can cause irritation, increase dryness and increase the risk of infections like conjunctivitis. Since dry eyes already have a compromised surface, untested products can cause more harm than good. Approved eye drops should also be discarded one month after opening.”Dr Ashu Aggarwal, ophthalmologist, Apollo Hospitals, Delhi, said, “Unapproved eye drops are unsafe as their quality, sterility and formulation are not ensured. Poor manufacturing can lead to infections and improper formulations can lead to reduced effectiveness. Patients should only use doctor-prescribed products from trusted companies.”

India will host the prestigious indoor event for the first time after World Athletics awarded the hosting rights to the country at its council meeting in Torun, Poland on Thursday. The decision was taken a day before the start of the 2026 World Indoor Championships in the Polish city.
“India has been awarded the World Indoor Athletics Championships for the year 2028,” confirmed World Athletics Vice President Adil Sumariwalla.
Held every two years, the event features some of the biggest names in global athletics, including pole vault superstar Duplantis, who has dominated the discipline in recent years. His presence in Bhubaneswar in 2028 will give Indian fans a chance to see one of the modern greats of the game up close.
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) had earlier announced its bid for the 2028 edition, with the World Athletics delegation visiting the indoor facility at the Kalinga Stadium complex in January.
AFI President Bahadur Singh Sagoo said this development reflects the growing stature of Indian athletics on the global stage.
He said, “India being awarded the 2028 World Athletics Indoor Championships is a symbol of the growing stature of Indian athletics. Following Neeraj Chopra’s success at the Olympics and World Championships, track and field has received special attention in the country.”
Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium complex, which houses a state-of-the-art indoor facility, has emerged as a major venue in India’s bid to host major international events.
India has also submitted bids for several global competitions, including the 2028 World U20 Championships and the 2031 World Athletics Championships, as part of its larger ambition to host the 2036 Olympics.

Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis is perhaps the greatest track and field athlete of all time. Duplantis, a pole vaulter, has broken the world record 15 times since 2020 in a remarkable display of dominance. New Delhi: Analysis of affidavits of 229 out of 233 Rajya Sabha MPs shows that 73 (32%) MPs have declared criminal cases against themselves and 31 (14%) are billionaires.At least 36 (16%) MPs have declared serious criminal cases. One MP has declared a murder case, four have declared attempt to murder cases, and three have declared cases related to crimes against women.Party-wise data shows that 27 out of 99 MPs of BJP (27%), 12 out of 28 (43) of Congress, four out of 13 (31) of Trinamool Congress, four out of 10 (40) of Aam Aadmi Party, all three MPs of CPM and three MPs of Bharat Rashtra Samithi have declared criminal cases against themselves in their affidavits. This number is two out of eight DMK MPs, two out of seven YSRCP MPs, two out of five AIADMK MPs, two out of four Samajwadi Party MPs and two out of three RJD MPs.In the report, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch have analyzed and updated the criminal, financial and other background details of 229 of the 233 Rajya Sabha MPs. In the present Rajya Sabha, one seat is vacant from Jharkhand. Three MPs were not analyzed because their affidavits were unavailable. The analysis includes 37 recently elected members.In terms of financial background, out of the 229 sitting Rajya Sabha MPs analysed, 31 (14%) are billionaires. Among major parties, six MPs from BJP, five from Congress, four from YSRCP, two from AAP, two from BRS and three from NCP have declared assets worth more than Rs 100 crore.While the total wealth of 229 sitting MPs is Rs 27,638 crore, the average wealth of sitting Rajya Sabha MPs is Rs 120.6 crore.BRS MP Bandi Partha Saradhi has the highest declared assets of over Rs 5,300 crore, followed by AAP’s Rajinder Gupta with over Rs 5,053 crore and YSRCP’s Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy with over Rs 2,577 crore.On the other hand, AAP MP Sant Balbir Singh is the poorest, with assets worth around Rs 3 lakh. He is followed by Manipur’s Maharaja Sanjaoba Leishemba, who has around Rs 5 lakh, and TMC’s Prakash Chik Badaik, who has around Rs 9 lakh.

FIR पर उठे सवाल
कोर्ट ने यह भी कहा कि मौजूदा एफआईआर अपने मौजूदा स्वरूप में जांच के लायक नहीं है. शिकायत सही प्रक्रिया का पालन करते हुए दर्ज नहीं की गई और इसकी वैधता पर सवाल उठाए गए हैं। कोर्ट ने शिकायतकर्ता की मंशा पर भी संदेह जताया.
आख़िरकार कोर्ट का फैसला
इन सभी तथ्यों को ध्यान में रखते हुए सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने एल्विश यादव के खिलाफ चल रही आपराधिक कार्यवाही को रद्द कर दिया। यह भी स्पष्ट किया गया कि यह निर्णय केवल कानूनी पहलुओं के आधार पर लिया गया है, न कि आरोपों की सच्चाई पर विचार करते हुए।
