Ghaziabad: A four-year-old girl, who was allegedly taken for a “walk” by her maternal uncle with the promise of buying food, was later found dead under a parked car in Tila Mor area, with her family accusing the man of rape and murder.Police said they received information about the body of a child lying under a white car at around 8 pm on Saturday night.By then she had been missing for more than eight hours. The body was sent for post-mortem and forensic teams collected evidence from the spot. Autopsy and forensic reports are awaited.The girl was the second among three siblings. His parents work as daily wage labourers. According to the family, the child was taken from outside his house around noon when only he and his father were present. His father is blind.The father said that the accused, his brother-in-law, had been living a short distance away for about a month and often visited them.On Saturday afternoon, when the girl was sitting outside eating ice cream, he came home and took her with him saying that he would buy more things for her.By the time the girl’s mother returned home and realized her daughter was missing, the child had been gone for some time. The family started searching the neighbourhood.Residents told the family that they had seen the maternal uncle with the girl. When they went to his room it was locked. A relative said the accused later spoke to the landlord on phone and claimed that the girl was with him, but he had dropped her back home.A few hours later, the family is informed by the police about the dead body of a young girl. At the hospital he identified her as his daughter.A family member alleged that the accused, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, was a habitual drug user and had come to live in the area about a month ago after a dispute with his wife and family.On Sunday, the police handed over the body to the family members.(The identity of the victim has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directions on cases related to sexual harassment)
