Participation of Bangladesh cricketers in upcoming pakistan super league (PSL) 2026 is now uncertain, with the final decision dependent on government approval amid ongoing regional tensions. Total six players of Bangladesh- Mustafizur RahmanParvez Hussain Imon, noisy islamNahid Rana, Tanzeed Hasan Tamim and Rishad Hossain – were initially granted No Objection Certificates (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board after being selected in the league’s first auction. However, the situation is developing between Pakistan And Afghanistan has prompted the board to reconsider its participation, making government approval mandatory. BCB president of cricket operations Nazmul Abedin confirmed that the board will not take a final decision without consulting officials. “Of course, we will take permission from the government before sending our cricketers for the PSL. Under normal circumstances, these things are not required. We provide clearance; they go, play and return. But since the situation is not normal and there is a risk element with respect to the players, obviously we will discuss it with the government,” Abedin was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz on Thursday. “We would like to know from the government whether it will be safe to travel or not, and based on the government’s decision, we will have to take a final decision whether the players will go or not. Because it is not really possible for us to understand the situation there. It is possible for the government to know. The government will know, and if the government tells us that it is safe to go and the players can travel, then the players will go. But, in principle, we have decided that we will give the NOC, and they will go to play. But it depends on the situation at that time.” As it stands, if the players are cleared to participate in the PSL, they may miss Bangladesh’s preparation camps ahead of the upcoming white-ball series against the New Zealand national cricket team, which is scheduled to tour Bangladesh for three ODIs and three T20Is next month. BCB has already issued partial NOC to manage the availability of players under both the commitments. Mustafizur Rahman, contracted by Lahore Qalandars, has been given clearance from March 26 to April 12 and again from April 24 to May 3. He will take part in the ODI series against New Zealand but will miss the T20I phase. Meanwhile, Tanzeed Hasan Tamim, Shoriful Islam, Naheed Rana and Rishad Hussain have received NOCs valid till April 12, allowing them to play in both formats of the home series. On the other hand, Pervez Hussain Emon has been given permission till April 21 and is expected to be available for the T20I matches. Now keeping security concerns at the forefront, the final decision on Bangladesh players’ PSL participation will ultimately depend on the government, leaving their participation in the tournament in limbo.

West Bengal Elections: Bengal Assembly Elections: Suvendu Adhikari takes to the streets in CM’s den, vows to defeat Mamata Banerjee by 25,000 votes. kolkata news

Bengal Assembly Elections: Suvendu Adhikari took to the streets in CM stronghold, resolved to defeat Mamata Banerjee by 25,000 votes.

Kolkata: Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari launched his campaign in Bhawanipur on Thursday, starting with a visit to Bhawanipur police station to lodge a complaint over alleged attacks on local BJP workers.Returning from Delhi in the morning, Adhikari went to Chakraberia Road, where party supporters welcomed him with traditional drums, garlands and sweets. Some workers showered rose petals on him.Euphoric with the welcome, Adhikari announced that he would defeat the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee By a margin of more than 25,000 votes. He said, “I will go to the house next to the CM residence for election campaign. No one can stop me.”In the 2021 assembly elections, Adhikari defeated Banerjee by 1,956 votes in Nandigram. This time he is contesting from both Nandigram and Bhawanipur, where Banerjee is his rival. “Mamata will lose again. She has been the CM for the last 15 years. She has ruined the state. So, it is important to defeat her and her party,” he said.On Chakraberia Road, Trinamool supporters have painted walls with Mamata Banerjee’s “Daughter of Bengal” slogan, while BJP workers have plastered the area with their posters. Tension spread for some time as workers from both sides came face to face. BJP supporters raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” after seeing a group of TMC workers nearby, who responded with “Jai Bangla”. Heavy police presence in the area created a human barrier, preventing a clash. The officer interacted with local residents and sought their votes. Claiming a positive response, he said, “Both Hindus and Muslims are affected by the current situation. Today is Navratri and being a Hindu I feel compelled to speak. There has been appeasement politics, but it has not led to real development of Muslims. I am confident of winning Bhawanipur seat by a margin of more than 25,000 votes.Trinamool spokesperson Jai Prakash Majumdar said, “It is better not to react to what officials say or do. Whatever political statements and predictions he has made since joining BJP in December 2020 have proved ridiculous. The only thing he accurately predicts is when ED and CBI will conduct raids, because they are his party units. Mamata Banerjee is going to win Bhawanipur by an increased margin.”

What’s wrong with America’s morality? New Pew Research study reveals shocking insights into the American mind. world News

What's wrong with America's morality? New Pew Research study reveals shocking insights into the American mind

While the country’s leaders keep waging one war after another and people keep fighting over ideologies on X (formerly Twitter), a new Pew Research Center The study exposed the changing foundation of American morality. On March 19, 2026, the Center asked ‘What do Americans consider immoral?’ Released a research titled. Instead of focusing on the universal taboos of theft and murder, two surveys conducted in 2025 asked about the morality of 15 widely debated behaviors in society, ranging from the death penalty to viewing pornography. What the answers revealed was a nation that is deeply illiberal yet paradoxically divided.

united on fraud

In a rare moment of national consensus, Americans found a unique “villain”: having an extramarital affair. Nine out of ten American adults claimed that it is morally wrong for married people to have affairs. Of the 15 parameters used to evaluate America’s morality, fraud was the only thing the entire country agreed to condemn, considering other factors included the death penalty, beating children, marijuana use, gambling, and more.

Partisan divide: two different Americas

Another surprising insight into the research was the difference in morality between Republicans and Democrats in the country. In the Republican mindset, abortion (71%), homosexuality (59%), viewing pornography (65%), and getting divorced (33%) were morally wrong. However, Democrats viewed morality through the lens of social equality, rating the extremely wealthy (29%), beating children (35%), and the death penalty (48%) as morally wrong. In the survey, viewing pornography (52%), having an abortion (47%), homosexuality (39%), and getting divorced (23%) were considered morally wrong, reflecting a large consensus with the political leadership and showing how ideals at the top filter down to the bottom. Under the Trump administration, it appears the red pill was more widely taken than the blue pill.

crisis of confidence

Despite political rhetoric portraying a ‘Golden Age’, America’s internal social fabric appears to be coming apart. The survey revealed that Americans view each other with suspicion, distrust and are critical of their fellow citizens. Only 47% of Americans view other Americans as morally good, while 53% say the morality and ethics of their fellow Americans is “somewhat or very bad.” This makes the United States a global leader; In almost every other country surveyed in 2025, citizens were more likely to view their fellow residents as inherently good.

American men need an awakening

The research also highlights a friction point between the sexes, particularly around family and reproductive issues.Getting a divorce (28%), having an abortion (51%), and using in vitro fertilization to get pregnant (11%) were more likely to be considered morally wrong by men than women. About 43% of men also thought that homosexuality was morally wrong. However, according to him, gambling, drinking and watching pornography were morally correct. In contrast, 58% of women take a strong stance on viewing pornography, compared to 47% of men, calling it morally wrong. Currently, America is not only “becoming more liberal” or “moving to the right” but seems to be dividing into sections hidden under the guise of unity by a layered Republican fabric.

‘He provoked me’: Sudhakaran to campaign against Minister Prasad as rift in Kerala CPM widens. india news

'He provoked me': Sudhakaran to campaign against Minister Prasad as rift in Kerala CPM widens

New Delhi: CPM rebel leader G Sudhakaran on Friday announced that he will campaign against Kerala Agriculture Minister P Prasad in Cherthala and accused him of making inappropriate remarks.Speaking to reporters in Alappuzha, Sudhakaran, who is contesting the election as an independent with the support of the Congress-led opposition United Democratic Front (UDF), said he had earlier decided not to participate in campaign activities outside his constituency.“I had decided not to participate in any election campaign outside Ambalappuzha. But now I have decided to campaign against Prasad in Cherthala because he has made unnecessary statements against me,” he told reporters in Alappuzha.Sudhakaran alleged that Prasad made the comments without consulting the state or district leadership of the CPI.“He is the only person in the CPI who has spoken against me. The party has not yet officially commented on the matter. I was silent, but he provoked me to take this stand,” the rebel leader said.Prasad had recently described Sudhakaran’s decision to contest as motivated by “desire for power” and said voters would reject him.Rejecting the CPI(M)’s charge that he was motivated by parliamentary ambitions, Sudhakaran questioned whether other leaders did not also have similar aspirations.“People are elected to the assembly to strengthen the communist movement. Earlier, capable leaders were sent. Now look at the people being elected. I joined the party in 1963 and now people are trying to teach me about it,” he said.He further alleged that his past statements were now being used against him during the campaign and expressed grief over the attacks on his family by party workers.“This is why I am contesting the elections this time. Even those in the top leadership who supported the false complaints were not rectified,” he said. However, the four-time MLA did not comment on the UDF’s decision not to field candidates in Ambalappuzha.“Local UDF leaders have met me and extended their support. I will contest the elections as an independent candidate for the people. Political criminals are joining the campaign in the name of the party. People will not vote for him,” Sudhakaran commented. All 126 assembly seats in Kerala will go to polls on April 9, with counting taking place on May 4 along with elections in Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry. As the ruling Left Democratic Front is trying to come to power for the third consecutive time, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is also eyeing a hat-trick at the top post.
