Near-Earth objects range in size from tiny specks of cosmic dust to giant asteroids, but very few objects pose a threat to our planet.The minimum approach distance of 156,000 miles for the asteroid falls within the Moon’s average orbital radius of approximately 239,000 miles. Therefore it will be considered to pass between the orbits of the Earth and the Moon. Although the distance between the two bodies seems relatively small in comparison, the difference between them is still quite large.

Is asteroid 2026 GD a threat to Earth during its close flyby?

There is no threat from asteroid 2026 GD. NASA has not classified it as a hazardous object, and its orbit does not coincide with Earth’s. For an asteroid to be considered potentially dangerous, it typically must be very large and follow a path that brings it very close over time. New Delhi: Senior leaders of NCP (SP) including party chief Sharad PawarSupriya Sule and Rohit Pawar on Thursday appealed to the Congress to withdraw their candidate against NCP president and Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar in the Baramati Assembly by-election.The by-election was necessitated by the death of then Maharashtra deputy CM and NCP chief Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in January. He had held the Baramati seat – a Pawar family stronghold – since the 1960s, winning it continuously since 1991.Sunetra Pawar is the wife of Ajit Pawar.Sharad Pawar, who founded the NCP and led it for 24 years before Ajit Pawar broke the party in July 2023, acknowledged that the final decision lies with the Congress but urged that it should withdraw its candidate.He told reporters in Baramati, “Congress is a national party and we cannot direct it to withdraw its candidate. However, the Baramati seat fell vacant due to a tragic accident, which took away an accomplished leader from Maharashtra. If asked, I would suggest that it would be appropriate for the Congress to contest this by-election unopposed.”The Congress, part of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi along with the NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT), has fielded lawyer Akash More for the April 23 bypoll.NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule, daughter of Sharad Pawar and cousin of Ajit Pawar, also made a similar appeal to the Congress.Sule said, “Ajit Dada had previously worked closely with the Indian National Congress and had always maintained cordial relations with your party. An unopposed election in Baramati would be a true tribute to him. I humbly appeal to the Congress to withdraw its candidate and help ensure that the by-election is conducted unopposed.”Both Sharad and Ajit Pawar were in the Congress before Sharad Pawar founded the NCP in June 1999.Earlier, Sharad Pawar’s grandson, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar met Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal and urged him to withdraw his nomination to facilitate the unopposed election of his aunt Sunetra Pawar.Congress has announced that it will withdraw from the elections, but only if an FIR is filed to investigate Ajit Pawar’s death.Opposition parties in Maharashtra have alleged foul play, noting that the two NCP factions were close to merging at the time. उत्तर प्रदेश समाचार: उत्तर प्रदेश के रायबरेली से एक सनसनीखेज मामला सामने आया है, जहां महज दो रुपये के लेनदेन को लेकर इतना बड़ा विवाद हुआ कि एक ही परिवार के चार लोगों पर जानलेवा हमला कर दिया गया. यह घटना शहर कोतवाली क्षेत्र के जिला अस्पताल चौराहे पर स्थित एक ढाबे पर हुई. आरोप है कि ढाबा संचालक ने अपने साथियों के साथ मिलकर परिवार को लोहे की रॉड और डंडों से बेरहमी से पीटा। इस हमले में एक युवक, उसके बुजुर्ग पिता और दो महिलाएं घायल हो गईं.

रिश्तेदार से मिलने के लिए उन्नाव से आया था, मामूली बात पर विवाद हो गया
जानकारी के मुताबिक, पीड़ित परिवार उन्नाव जिले का रहने वाला है और रायबरेली जिला अस्पताल में भर्ती अपने एक रिश्तेदार को देखने आया था. अस्पताल के बाहर स्थित ढाबे पर खाना खाते समय बिल के भुगतान में मात्र दो रुपये का अंतर आया। इतनी सी बात पर ढाबा संचालक शिवा सोनकर नाराज हो गया और विवाद शुरू हो गया।

लोहे की रॉड और लाठियों से हमला, युवक की हालत गंभीर
आरोप है कि शिवा सोनकर ने अपने साथियों को बुला लिया और परिवार के साथ गाली-गलौज शुरू कर दी और देखते ही देखते उन पर हमला बोल दिया। हमलावरों ने पूरे परिवार को लोहे की रॉड और लाठियों से पीटा। इस दौरान युवक के सिर और शरीर पर गंभीर चोटें आईं, जिसे तुरंत जिला अस्पताल के इमरजेंसी वार्ड में भर्ती कराया गया. बीच-बचाव करने आई महिलाओं को भी नहीं बख्शा गया और उनके साथ भी मारपीट की गयी.

आरोपी पर पहले भी कई संगीन मामले दर्ज हैं
बताया जा रहा है कि आरोपी शिवा सोनकर इलाके का कुख्यात हिस्ट्रीशीटर है. उस पर पहले से ही हत्या के प्रयास, लूट और रंगदारी जैसे कई गंभीर मामले दर्ज हैं. अस्पताल जैसी संवेदनशील जगह पर ऐसी घटना ने पुलिस की कार्यशैली पर भी सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं.

डॉक्टर ने घायलों की स्थिति बताई
जिला अस्पताल के ईएमओ डॉ. अतुल पांडे के मुताबिक घायलों में एक युवक की हालत गंभीर है, उसके सिर पर गहरी चोट है। प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद उन्हें निगरानी में रखा गया है, जबकि अन्य घायलों का इलाज चल रहा है।

जांच में जुटी पुलिस, आरोपी फरार
घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची, लेकिन आरोपी वहां से भाग चुके थे. पुलिस ने पीड़ित परिवार की शिकायत पर मामला दर्ज कर लिया है और सीसीटीवी फुटेज और प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के आधार पर आरोपियों की तलाश शुरू कर दी है. पुलिस का कहना है कि जल्द ही आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी.

The outreach included Pakistan’s military leadership, including Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, who was in touch with senior US officials and Iranian counterparts.The report said the US believes Iran would be more receptive to an offer conveyed by the Muslim-majority neighbor that has maintained neutrality during the conflict. एसीजेएम की अदालत में दायर मामले में द नैनीताल बैंक लिमिटेड के शाखा प्रबंधक सुरेश चंद्र ने कहा कि लालकुआं के किशनपुर सरकुलिया निवासी सुरेश चंद्र जोशी और उनकी पत्नी सरिता जोशी ने ग्राम किशनपुर सरकुलिया में 230 वर्ग मीटर और ग्राम बमौरी मल्ली तहसील हल्द्वानी में 285.43 वर्ग मीटर जमीन बंधक रखकर 3 जुलाई 2020 को बैंक से 1.35 करोड़ रुपये का ऋण लिया।

30 मार्च 2024 को जब लोन खाता एनपीए श्रेणी में आ गया तो बैंक ने नोटिस भेजा लेकिन आरोपियों की ओर से कोई जवाब नहीं मिला. जब बैंक ने बंधक संपत्ति की जानकारी ली तो पता चला कि लोन लेने के ठीक आठ महीने बाद 27 नवंबर 2020 को किशनपुर सरकुलिया की जमीन गलत तथ्यों के आधार पर अवैध तरीके से देवकी देवी को बेच दी गई.

हल्द्वानी कोतवाली और एसएसपी को प्रार्थना पत्र देने के बाद भी जब कोई कार्रवाई नहीं हुई तो शाखा प्रबंधक ने कोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाया। इसके बाद एसीजेएम के आदेश पर आरोपी सुरेश चंद्र जोशी और सरिता जोशी के खिलाफ धोखाधड़ी की धारा में एफआईआर दर्ज की गई।
