Bapu Tower, Vaishali Museum selected for Vishwakarma Award
Bihar’s Bapu Tower and Vaishali’s Buddha Museum have earned the prestigious Vishwakarma Awards for 2026. These architectural marvels, showcasing Gandhi’s legacy and Buddhist legacy respectively, highlight the state’s commitment to historical preservation as well as the development of modern infrastructure. This recognition underlines the growing cultural and tourism appeal of Bihar.

Patna: Construction Industry Development Council has selected Bapu Tower in Patna and Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum and Memorial Stupa in Vaishali for the 17th Vishwakarma Award 2026. Building Construction Department Secretary Kumar Ravi announced this on Tuesday.It is a document of the life of Bapu Tower located in Gardanibagh. Mahatma Gandhi and their connection to Bihar using audio-visual techniques and graffiti. The 72-acre Vaishali complex, which opened in July 2025, houses the remains of the Buddha within a stupa built from Bansi Paharpur sandstone. To ensure that the structure remained earthquake resistant, engineers used specific techniques. The site includes a library, visitor center and museum.The building construction department had earlier received the Vishwakarma Award for the Samrat Ashoka Convention Center and Anjuman Islamia Hall. These projects are part of the state’s initiative to develop infrastructure while maintaining historical sites.The selection of these projects reflects the CM’s focus on developing modern infrastructure while preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Bihar. He is also expected to boost the state’s tourism and raise its cultural profile.
