New Delhi: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav alleged on Friday BJP Using the Election Commission during the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, he said that when the party starts losing on real issues, it uses institutions.“The Election Commission is working at the behest of the BJP. In all the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission has worked on the instructions of the BJP. When the BJP starts losing on real issues, it hides behind institutions to carry out its attacks,” he said during his visit to Rajasthan.
After special intensive revision, the number of voters in the final voter list of Uttar Pradesh released on Friday has increased by more than 84 lakh. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said the final voter list now has 13.39 crore voters, up from 12.55 crore in the draft list published in January.Rinwa said the process includes hearings and verification, and stressed that no voter’s name will be removed without due process. “If any name present in the draft roll is missing in the final list, it is either because of the Form-6 application or because of a decision taken by the ERO after proper hearing,” he said.He said that political parties were involved in the entire process. A total of 107 complaints were received from parties, most of which were from the Samajwadi Party, and all were resolved.Rinwa also said that those who are not satisfied with the final list can file an appeal before the District Magistrate within 15 days and can also approach the Chief Electoral Officer if needed.
