New Delhi: Maharashtra cabinet minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was in trouble on Saturday when the helicopter in which he was traveling landed at a parking lot in Pune instead of the scheduled helipad. Officials said a proper helipad was prepared for the VVIP arrival, but the pilot reportedly mistook an open space in the parking area as a landing spot. The area was relatively empty at that time, which may have caused confusion. However, landing was risky because the helicopter’s rotating rotors could cause damage to nearby vehicles or structures.Speaking to reporters later, Bhujbal said, “There is no accident, we all have come out safely.” There is nothing to worry about; The helicopter landed in the car parking area only because the helipad was not visible.”Security agencies have started an investigation to find out whether the mistake occurred due to a technical problem or human error.Bhujbal was going from Nashik to Khanwadi in Purandar tehsil to attend a program organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.
