New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said the Delhi government is committed to taking concrete, practical steps to resolve the problems of sanitation workers.According to an official statement, while interacting with the representatives of the Safai Karmachari Union, the Chief Minister directed the concerned department to review all the matters raised by the union and ensure prompt action.Expressing concern over the ground challenges faced by the community, the union representatives raised demands for recruitment and regularization of sanitation workers as well as workplace safety, wage issues and other service conditions, the statement said.They also gave suggestions to the chief minister, demanding better health facilities, permanent employment and a more respectful working environment commensurate with the nature of their work, the statement said.
