HD Deve Gowda in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: Some light moments were seen in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday as Congress President. Mallikarjun Kharge Former PM HD said Deve Gowda Was “in love” with Congress but got “married” BJP. However, Deve Gowda hit back saying they had a ‘forced marriage’ congress party And had to get a “divorce” because it was an “abusive relationship.”Speaking during the farewell to the retiring members, opposition leader Kharge said he had known Deve Gowda for 54 years. “He shared his love and affection with us but tied the knot with Mr Modi (BJP). This happened recently, so I don’t know what you will make of it,” he said when Deve Gowda was not in the House but PM Modi was present. Both Kharge and Deve Gowda are retiring and may return to the Rajya Sabha.Deve Gowda responded in a statement on Twitter. “Here’s my response, both light-hearted and factual, to why I felt forced to ‘divorce’ the Congress,” he said, tagging the PMO.Referring to the 2019 developments in Karnataka, he said, “My dear and long-time friend Mallikarjun Kharge made a light-hearted comment… If I answer in the same language, I was in a ‘forced marriage’ with the Congress, but I had to ‘divorce’ him because it was an abusive relationship.”
