New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah ‘Charge sheet’ issued against BJP on Saturday Trinamool Congress The TMC-led West Bengal government ahead of the assembly elections in the state.Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata, Shah stressed that the upcoming elections would be a choice between “fear and faith”. He was also joined by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya and leader of opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari.
He criticized the Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata BanerjeeAccused him of promoting “the politics of lies, violence and corruption in the last 15 years”.Shah told reporters, “Bengal has to choose between fear and trust. Politics of fear and corruption has been going on for the last 15 years. Mamata Banerjee has created a new way of politics by using lies and violence to advance her politics. The basis of TMC coming to power is lies, fear and violence. But since 2011, BJP has been fighting against it and I am confident that this time BJP will form the government.”He further said, “In today’s press conference, we have brought a chargesheet against the 15-year rule of the TMC government. This chargesheet has been filed on behalf of the people of Bengal against the Mamata Banerjee government, on which the BJP is raising its voice. In a way, the people of Bengal have to decide in the coming elections whether to choose fear or trust.”The senior BJP leader also praised Suvendu Adhikari for his extensive tour of the state to address key issues.“Elections have been announced. Under the leadership of our state president, all the BJP workers have entered Bengal with the resolve to form the BJP government. This election in Bengal is also very important for national security.” The security of the entire eastern region is linked to Bengal. After the formation of BJP government in Assam, infiltration has almost ended. Now, there is only one route left from where infiltrators enter the entire country and that is Bengal,” he said.Shah said, “Our opposition leader Shri Suvendu Adhikari ji has also toured the entire Bengal before the elections and has raised the issues of disorder, anarchy, economic crisis and especially infiltration prevalent in Bengal to the people.”He criticized TMC for failing to fulfill its promise of “Sonar Bangla”, turning the state into a hub for criminal syndicates and blocking industrial development, which he described as a “graveyard for industry”.Elections will be held in the state in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting of votes for both phases taking place on May 4. In the first phase, elections will be held in 152 constituencies, while the remaining 142 seats will go to polls in the second phase.(With ANI inputs)
