'India can end the ongoing war': RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat calls for global harmony as tensions rise in Middle East

New Delhi: RSS chairman Mohan Bhagwat Said on Friday that “India can end the ongoing war” amid increasing conflict in the Middle East.Speaking at a gathering in Nagpur, Bhagwat said voices from different countries were recognizing India’s role in promoting peace.Bhagwat said, “Many countries are saying that only India can end the ongoing war.”Bhagwat was addressing an event after laying the foundation stone of Vidarbha state office of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). He also talked about the root causes of global conflicts and the need for change towards harmony.

He said that selfishness and desire for dominance are the main reasons behind wars across the world. Bhagwat said, “War is the result of selfishness; the world needs harmony, not conflict.”Providing broader context, he said the world has tried various methods to resolve conflicts for nearly 2,000 years, but many challenges remain. He also pointed out that religious intolerance, forced religious conversion and ideas of superiority and inferiority exist.Bhagwat highlighted that India’s traditional philosophy promotes unity and interconnectedness. According to news agency PTI, he said that Indian thinking is based on the idea that everyone is connected and even modern science is gradually moving towards this understanding. He stressed that lasting peace could not be achieved through power struggles, but through unity, discipline and adherence to religion. According to him, religion should not be limited to the scriptures only but should be reflected in daily conduct.Pointing out the difference between India and other parts of the world, Bhagwat said, “India follows the law of humanity, others believe in survival of the fittest.”Bhagwat said it is India’s responsibility to help restore balance in the world. He said, “The people of India follow the law of humanity, but the rest of the world follows the law of the jungle. It is our job to restore balance by giving the tottering world the foundation of religion.”
