Kolkata: Actor and BJP Kharagpur Town MLA Hiranmoy Chattopadhyay (Hiran) has described his marital status as “legally married; presently separated”, mentioning Anindita Chattopadhyay as his wife in his nomination affidavit. Earlier this year, after pictures of actor and colleague Ritika Giri performing Hindu wedding rituals in Varanasi surfaced, Anindita had filed an FIR against Hiran, accusing him of mental and physical cruelty and second marriage without divorce. This time, Hiran, who is contesting from Shyampur in Howrah district, has declared that he has Rs 15 lakh in cash and Anindita has Rs 12 lakh in cash. His bank and insurance investments total Rs 5.3 crore. He owns a car worth Rs 4.7 lakh while an SUV worth Rs 5 lakh is registered in Anindita’s name. He declared 20 grams of jewelery worth Rs 4.7 lakh. The price of Anindita’s jewelery is Rs 18 lakh. Their combined assets are Rs 14.5 crore while liabilities are Rs 2.3 lakh. Four criminal cases are also pending against Hiran, including assault and conspiracy charges and the complaint filed by Anindita.
