six guarantees

Underscoring his guarantees, PM Modi said the BJP will ensure strict implementation of law and accountability if voted to power:

  1. The BJP government will bring confidence by changing the atmosphere of fear and restore faith in the rule of law.
  2. The administrative machinery will be fully accountable to the public it serves.
  3. All files of every scam, every act of corruption, every injustice against daughters and every rape case will be reopened.
  4. Whoever has committed corruption in TMC rule is in jail. “Whether it is a minister or a watchman, the law will hold everyone accountable. No TMC goon will be able to escape the law now.”
  5. Refugees will be given every right and privilege guaranteed by the Constitution, while infiltrators will be driven out and will not be allowed to reside in India.
  6. The 7th Pay Commission will be implemented as soon as the BJP government is formed.

‘Double engine government’ for Bengal

PM Modi stressed that the best interest of West Bengal is for the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister to work together, making the “double engine government” necessary for the state. He said, “The best interest of Bengal is not in hostility towards the Prime Minister; rather, the people benefit most if both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister work together. That is why a double engine government is absolutely necessary for Bengal. The double engine government will make Bengal self-reliant in the fisheries and seafood sector.”

Boost to fisheries sector

The Prime Minister highlighted the Central Government’s steps towards promoting the fisheries sector across the country, including the creation of a separate Ministry of Fisheries – a first since independence.PM Modi said, “After decades of independence, our government for the first time created a separate Ministry of Fisheries to cater to the needs of fishermen, their families and the blue economy as a whole.”He said the BJP has allocated a record budget for the welfare of fishermen, provided access to the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility, and offered insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh for fishermen, the benefits of which have already been availed by lakhs of people. He said that central schemes face opposition in the state due to political reasons. “This increase in fish production has received significant support from the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana. However, they have a problem with it because it has a ‘PM’ tag,” he said.PM Modi said, “TMC leaders may hate me, but in that hatred they have not even left the word ‘PM’.”Voting for the 294-member West Bengal Assembly will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting taking place on May 4. The rally is seen as crucial to the BJP’s efforts to retain its political influence in the region, which has emerged as a central battleground in its contest with the TMC.
