RCB’s Nuwan Thushara apologizes for taking legal action against Sri Lanka Cricket over IPL NOC
In a surprise downfall, Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Thushara, who took his cricket board to court for refusing to grant him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for participation in the IPL, has now apologized to the governing body and is considering withdrawing his case.
Sri Lanka Cricket sources said Thushara had apologized in an e-mail to the SLC, saying that his intention was not to “cause inconvenience to the governing body”.
He was “seeking fairness and justice” because he felt he had been treated unfairly.
The backdown came after the SLC told the district court here yesterday that objections would be filed on Thushara’s application for court intervention to enable his participation in 2026. IPL.
The 31-year-old man had filed the case seeking the order Instructions to issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Sri Lanka Cricket. SLC had rejected his request citing failed fitness tests.
The court accepted SLC’s plea and fixed the next hearing for April 23.
Thushara has 30 T20 International matches to his name since 2022. He was to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season, having previously played in 2024 and 2025.
