Possibility of Nipah virus: Kyrgyzstan bans testing of animals from India, strict health check at airport
nipah virus alert Once again global health beneficiaries and ashrams are advised. Central Asian country Kyrgyzstan has taken a big step in view of the increasing cases and danger of Nipah virus in India. The country has banned plaster and animal statues coming from India, as well as restricted health checks and documents for passengers on international flights to Bishkek and the second-largest capital city, Osh.
According to Russian news agency TASS, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Food Organization Industry of Kyrgyzstan has clarified that all these measures have been implemented in response to the outbreak of Nipah virus in India, so that anyone can get infected with it before entering the country.
🔴 What is Nipah virus and why is it so dangerous?
Nipah virus is a serious and deadly zoonotic virus, meaning it can affect humans. It was first identified in Malaysia in 1999. For example, its natural hosts are fruit-eating bats, specifically prototypic bats. These bats can transmit the virus to humans through the powerful fruits or their juice.
The biggest concern about Nipah virus is its high mortality rate, which in some outbreaks has been recorded at 40% to 75%. This is why the World Health Organization includes it in the list of laboratory-tested pathogens.
🔴 Kyrgyzstan’s decision: surveillance of apartments at the border and at the airport
Amid the Nipah virus alert, Kyrgyzstan has not only banned the import of animals and livestock from India but has also imposed strict containment measures for all arriving passengers at the international airports of Bishkek and Osh.
According to health officials, now the thermal department of the passengers is being announced to check the health certificate and survey. Passengers who develop fever, cough, difficulty in breathing or neurological symptoms should be immediately isolated and sent for medical examination.
🔴 Situation in India and international reaction
Cases of Nipah virus are being reported from time to time in India, especially in Kerala and some other states. Every time health complaints are issued for this at local and national level.
Kyrgyzstan’s move comes as the country now has more restrictions in place than anywhere else globally before it could contain infectious diseases. Experts say that due to the increasing network of international travel and trade, the risk of any infection is increasing manifold, hence such supportive steps are necessary.
🔴 Main symptoms of Nipah virus
Under the Nipah virus alert, the health department is reviewing it with the people. Symptoms of this virus generally appear in 4 to 14 days.
Key revelations include:
-
high fever
-
Headaches and pain in the spines
-
sore throat and cough
-
vomiting and weakness
-
comfort in taking rest
-
dizziness or mental confusion
-
Inflammation of the brain (encephalitis), seizures and weakness in severe cases
Health experts say that if any person with these characteristics has a history of recent travel to a railway station, they should immediately contact a doctor.
🔴 How does infection occur?
Information about Nipah virus can be obtained mainly for more than three years:
-
From bats to humans: Vitamins through fruit or date juice.
-
From humans to humans: From contact with poultry, pigs or other animals.
-
From human to human: From contact with fluids such as saliva or respiratory secretions.
For this reason, Kyrgyzstan has tried to minimize the threat of a ban on animal effigies.
🔴Prevention measures and health advice
Health expert points out some important precautions amid Nipah virus alert:
-
Do not consume open or cut fruits.
-
Connect with date juice.
-
Contact with sick people.
-
Regular cleaning of hands.
-
Masks and accessories are used during travel.
-
Get medical attention immediately for any symptoms.
🔴 New system implemented at the airport
Special medical ratings now exist at Bishkek and OSH airports. It is mandatory for passengers to fill a health declaration form, which includes details of recent travel, health condition and contact information.
According to the Health Ministry, suspected cases will be kept under investigation and their investigation reports will not be given until the visit.
🔴Steps towards global health security
Under the Nipah virus alert in Kyrgyzstan, it has been decided that the fight against infectious diseases is no longer the responsibility of any one country. Only global cooperation, timely sharing of information and continuous action can save the world from situations like pandemic.
Health experts believe that such justice can lead to not only increased reading of news of infection but also less awareness among the general public.
🔴Message to the people
The Health Department has appealed to the common citizens to avoid rumors and only follow the official health instructions. The right information and tools are the biggest weapon against any virus.
Kyrgyzstan has taken strict measures regarding the Nipah virus, indicating that global health security is now more prominent than ever before. Banning animal figurines and banning airplanes from India does not seek to impose restrictions on principle, but rather reminds us that awareness, caution, and international cooperation are the most effective path forward from any health crisis.

Good news for Indian green card applicants: EB-2, EB-3 dates extended in April 2026 visa bulletin
April 2026 visa bulletin brings good news for Indians green card The employment-based green card process continues to attract applicants for Indians. For EB-2 and EB-3 India, the filing dates have been extended to January 15, 2015, a significant jump compared to the March 2026 visa bulletin, where EB-2 India was only on November 1, 2014. Although the movement is only for two months, immigration experts said it is huge as such onward movement was not seen in recent years. The waiting time for green cards in these categories is more than 10 years but the backlog is now gradually increasing. On final action dates, EB-2 India has reached 15 July 2014, a jump of almost ten months from the previous position of September 2013 to March 2026. Immigration lawyer Rahul Reddy said, “This is not just incremental movement. This is real progress.” “If your priority date is before January 15, 2015, and USCIS allows the use of dates for filing charts, you may be eligible to file your I-485 now. This means access to EADs, advance parole, and job flexibility, which are major benefits for thousands of Indian professionals stuck in the backlog. For those waiting for approval, the forward motion in final action dates signals that USCIS is proactive. This is often a leading indicator of more movement in the coming months,” Reddy explained. For many other countries (not India), there is no visa backlog in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The employment-based second preference category is EB-2, which is for highly skilled people such as engineers, doctors, data scientists and researchers. EB-3 is an employment-based third preference category for mid-level IT workersThis steady movement comes as the US has so far banned many countries from obtaining green cards. As a result, spillover green cards are coming to countries where wait times are longer, such as India. “This type of progress does not happen randomly. It generally indicates that visa number utilization is being managed more efficiently or that demand has decreased slightly, both of which can benefit Indian applicants in the short term. But let’s be clear. This is not the end of the backlog problem. This is a positive window, not a permanent solution. Don’t celebrate too early, but don’t sit idle either. This is the window that smart applicants use,” Reddy explained.
What is Visa Bulletin? Why is it monitored so closely
The US State Department releases a monthly update that tells people when they can get a US Green Card. The bulletin shows three main dates: the final action date is the date when your green card can actually be approved; Filing date is the date when you can submit your application form; The priority date is the date your employer starts your green card process. Visa bulletins are closely monitored as there is massive backlog in countries like India and China. The movement of dates cannot be predicted; Some months there is no movement at all.
Census 2027 provides historic opportunity to record data on disability: Athawale | india news
New Delhi: Union minister Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday said the upcoming Census 2027 presents a “historic opportunity” to collect accurate data on all 21 recognized categories of disability and enable targeted policymaking for persons with disabilities. Speaking at the launch of the handbook titled ‘Beyond the Visible: A Handbook on Disability Inclusion for Parliamentarians’, Athawale said the exercise would be the first census to be conducted after the enactment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. He emphasized that better enumeration and disaggregated data will help the government to design effective interventions and ensure better inclusion of persons with disabilities. Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, said, “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016 was a landmark reform, which recognized 21 disabilities, moved from a welfare-based to a rights-based approach and aligned India with the UNCRPD. For the first time, the law explicitly recognized political barriers as a major barrier for persons with disabilities.” The Minister also mentioned key government initiatives such as Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan, Unique Disability ID (UDID) portal, skill development programs under PM-DAKSH and health care efforts under Ayushman Bharat, which aim at mainstreaming persons with disabilities. Athawale said the launch of the handbook prepared by the National Center for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) and Bajaj Finserv and Tuesday’s roundtable discussion will mainstream the discussion on disability rights and inclusive policymaking in Parliament and outside. NCPEDP Executive Director Arman Ali said the handbook aims to help lawmakers translate legal provisions into actionable policy and overcome barriers faced by persons with disabilities. He said, “This book will help translate the RPWD Act into real legislative action and make inclusion a lived reality in Indian democracy.” Citing the findings of a recent NCPEDP survey, Ali stressed the need for more inclusive health care policies, saying that more than 80 per cent of persons with disabilities do not have health insurance due to high premiums, exclusion from disability-related treatments and denial of coverage. “Under PM Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive healthcare, schemes like Ayushman Bharat should explicitly include persons with disabilities and provide comprehensive, lifelong support including assistive devices, rehabilitation and disability-specific care. “The government is committed to removing these barriers so that no disabled person has to face huge out-of-pocket expenses,” Ali said. The event also saw a panel discussion on inclusive health coverage and political participation, which was attended by MPs and political leaders including ET Mohammad Bashir, parliamentary member of the Central Advisory Board on Disability, Lok Sabha MP Eatala Rajender, Rajya Sabha MP Fauzia Khan, BJP spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan, BJP youth wing vice president Neha Joshi and NCP (SP) spokesperson Aneesh Gawande.

‘We don’t need help!’ Trump’s anger over NATO and other countries’ refusal to participate in the Iran war!
us President donald trump On Tuesday he stressed that the US does not need support from its allies as it continues military operations against Iran, declaring that the country is “by far the most powerful country anywhere in the world and they don’t need anyone’s help!”In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that many NATO allies have refused to participate in the US-led military operation. He wrote, “The United States has been informed by the majority of our NATO ‘allies’ that they do not wish to join our military campaign against Iran’s terrorist regime in the Middle East, despite the fact that almost every country strongly agrees with what we are doing, and that Iran cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons in any way, shape, or form.”He added, “However, I am not surprised by their actions, because I have always considered NATO, where we spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year defending these same countries – we will defend them, but they will do nothing for us, especially, in our time of need.”The US President also claimed significant military success against Iran. “Fortunately, we have destroyed Iran’s military, their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft and radar are gone and perhaps, most importantly, their leaders, at almost every level, are gone, never to threaten us, our Middle Eastern allies or the world again!” He said that in view of these developments, America’s dependence on allies is no longer necessary. “Due to the fact that we have had such military success, we no longer ‘need’ or desire the assistance of NATO countries, we never did! Likewise, Japan, Australia or South Korea. In fact, speaking as the President of the United States, by far the most powerful country anywhere in the world, we don’t need anyone’s help!”Trump’s comments come amid apparent strain in Washington’s relations with its allies, after several countries reacted cautiously or rejected his call to deploy warships to escort merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
