New Delhi: Tamil Nadu’s election race for the post of Deputy Chief Minister gained momentum on Thursday Udayanidhi Stalin filed his nomination from Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni, while actor-politician Vijay also fielded from Trichy East.Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin filed his nomination DMK The candidate conducted a road show till the Returning Officer’s office. Our leader will become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the second time,” he told reporters.In the 2021 elections, he won the seat by a margin of 69,355 votes.On Wednesday, Udhayanidhi also announced welfare measures, including coupons worth Rs 8,000 for household items like TVs, refrigerators and washing machines. He said that laptops have already been provided to 10 lakh college students.

A large number of party workers gathered at Tiruchirappalli airport to welcome him ahead of his nomination.Earlier, Vijay released his party’s manifesto, promising anti-drug safety zones in schools and colleges. “Our primary goal is to create a drug-free Tamil Nadu,” he said.Voting for all 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase on April 23, with counting taking place on May 4.
