New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused Congress leaders of putting the lives of Indians in danger in the Middle East by making dangerous remarks.Addressing a rally in Thiruvalla in poll-bound Kerala, the Prime Minister alleged that amid the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, the Congress wants the Gulf countries to consider India as their enemy.

PM Modi said, “Congress wants that the West Asian countries should consider India as their enemy. If we make some mistake here, make some such statements and Indians living in Gulf countries will face trouble, that is why Congress is making statements that anger the Gulf countries.”He said, “Congress wants to spread panic and get an opportunity to abuse Modi. I want to tell the people of Congress, LDF, UDF that politics has its place, elections will come and go, but for me the priority is the safety of lakhs of Keralites there and I am committed to it.”However, PM Modi cited India’s good relations with Middle Eastern countries and said that Gulf governments consider Indians as their family.PM Modi said, “It is a good thing that our friendship is strong, that all the Gulf governments consider all our Indians as their family and protect them.”He said, “But such language is being spoken here. I am tired of telling them that this is not the time to speak like this. The safety of lakhs of our brothers and sisters living there is our only responsibility. So stop speaking nonsense, so that our youth, our daughters do not face any trouble there.”The Center has been monitoring the situation since the beginning of the conflict. Earlier, PM Modi also chaired a meeting with Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of all states and Union Territories to review the situation.Additionally, the government has also formed an inter-ministerial committee under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to monitor the situation.
