New Delhi: India-flagged oil tanker ‘Jag Ladki’, which was loading oil at UAE’s Fujairah port on Saturday when the oil terminal was attacked, departed safely from the port to India on Sunday morning, the shipping ministry said. It said the ship was carrying about 80,800 tonnes of Murban crude, an oil grade produced by the United Arab Emirates. The ministry also said that all Indian sailors aboard the ship are safe. The ship is owned and operated by Mumbai-based Great Eastern Shipping Company.

The Liberian-flagged tanker, MT Smyrni, arrived at Mumbai port on Saturday night carrying about 1.4 lakh tonnes of crude oil. This is the third tanker to reach an Indian port after transiting the Strait of Hormuz amid the West Asian conflict. In a statement, the government said, “Two Indian flagged LPG carriers, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, carrying approximately 92,712 tonnes of LPG, which transited the Strait of Hormuz on March 14, are currently en route to India and are scheduled to reach Mundra Port on March 16 and Kandla Port on March 17 respectively.” Currently, 22 Indian flagged ships with 611 sailors remain in the west of the Persian Gulf region. India is in discussions with Iran for safe movement of Indian-flagged ships in the conflict-affected region.
