Madrid Open 2026: Jannik Sinner created history by defeating Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to reach the finals
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner continued his incredible form after qualifying for the Madrid Open final. On Friday, May 1, the Italian star defeated Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4 to book his place in the championship match. Sinner also became the youngest player to reach the finals of all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments.

His performances in Madrid have also been notable for his mental resilience, especially in moments of pressure where he has consistently broken serve at crucial junctures.
“I tried to be the best aggressive. I felt very comfortable on the return. In the second set she started to serve better so it was more difficult. I’m very happy with the general performance today.
