From only 7 in 2014, BJP has been adding states one after another to reach 22 in 2026. Over the same period, Congress and allies have fallen from 14 to 6, while regional and other parties have fallen from 7 to 3.
The change is so pronounced that it can be seen geographically: you can now drive from India’s border with China in the northeast to the border with Pakistan in the west without leaving BJP-NDA territory.
