Agartala: When two suspected Bangladeshi smugglers were killed bsf On Friday night, soldiers opened fire on them in self-defense on the India-Bangladesh border in Sepahijala, Tripura. The incident took place near Kamalasagar border post, an area known for smuggling activities allegedly facilitated by villagers from both sides of the border. According to sources, a BSF patrol spotted a group of 10-15 people transferring goods to their Indian counterparts across the border fence under the cover of darkness. When challenged, the smugglers reportedly started pelting stones at the soldiers, who opened fire. Both the persons were injured and fell on the ground. They were identified as Nabeen Hussain (20) and Mohammad Moorslin (40). He was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Police said the injured admitted being from Bangladesh and being involved in smuggling. Police said their bodies were handed over to the BGB after post-mortem.
