First came the coronavirus pandemic, then wars broke out and now the world is facing an energy crisis. This decade is turning into a decade of disasters for the world. We can all see that if these conditions are not changed rapidly, a very large section of the world’s population may once again be pushed into the quagmire of poverty.”“PM: Join India’s journey towards becoming a developed nationHowever, Modi’s speech largely focused on India’s many achievements since taking office 12 years ago, the Indian diaspora and relations between India and the Netherlands.He talked about the huge turnout in recent elections and its boundless aspirations, which are reflected in its aim of hosting the Olympics and becoming a global manufacturing hub. He said, “From that day till today, the trust that crores of Indians have placed in me neither lets me stop nor let me get tired.”India is now a land of opportunities and is both technology-driven and humanity-driven. The PM said India is as modern as it is ancient, and urged NRIs to reconnect with the country and take part in its journey towards becoming a developed nation.“This will strengthen India’s capabilities and also give you higher returns on your investment. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he said amid applause from the audience.
