A man jumped from a fourth-floor balcony when FBI agents went to his home to arrest him Thursday in connection with a $90 million fraud in Minnesota. Immediately, the agency addressed a press conference, released dramatic footage of an accused running away on foot holding a shoe in his hand and sought public tips to catch him.Colin McDonald, Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Enforcement Division, said, “I would encourage the public to help this individual face justice for the fraud he committed. And now, to face additional charges for attempting to flee law enforcement and obstructing justice based on his conduct today.”

Mohammed Omar has been charged with conspiracy to commit health care fraud and four counts of health care fraud.Prosecutors say they worked with another man, Ibrahim Bashir Abdi, to create North Home Health Care, and Omar opened another company called South Home Health Care. The companies were registered with Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization Program.Officials say these people will manipulate and inflate the number of service hours provided by North Home. Officials say some of the patients they were supposedly caring for were actually hospitalized and others were dead. Omar and Abdi made $3.2 million based on those false claims. Omar received an additional $480,000 through claims from South Home.The allegations say that these people also sent some money abroad to buy property in Kenya. These 15 people used disabled people as lottery tickets to earn millions of dollars and with that money they bought luxury vehicles and spent money on expensive jewelry.“This was the cost of the early intervention development program in 2020. It was $38.1 million. This is what we expected to pay every year,” Secretary Kennedy explained. “Instead, this year it reached $442 million. … [That’s] “The magnitude and damage of fraud is what we’re talking about today.”“It got so out of control that it caused panic,” Dr. Oz said. “It was at that point we restarted the process and realized that here were programs created with massive spending that had grown so rapidly that there was no way to save the program.”
