Lucknow: A 36-year-old service manager died after being hit on the head by a bag of construction debris allegedly thrown from the second floor of a hotel in Lucknow on Tuesday morning, police said. The incident took place at around 8 am in the Vasundhara Vihar area of ​​Naubasta Kala of Chinhat police station area.The deceased was identified as Anup Kumar Singh, a resident of Kundauli village in Deoria district, who was working as a service manager at a Maruti showroom near IT intersection. Police and family members said Singh was on his way to work when he passed by a hotel. A sack reportedly fell directly on Singh’s head, causing serious injuries. He collapsed at the spot and was taken by local residents to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, where he was declared brought dead.The police detained the hotel owner for questioning and sent the body for postmortem. Singh’s brother alleged negligence, attempts to clean up the incident site and pressure for a settlement. The family demanded strict action and compensation of Rs 50 lakh. Police said a case is being registered and investigation is ongoing.
