Kanpur: A joint team of Revenue, Police, Transport and Mining Department under the leadership of Sub-Collector Abichal Pratap Singh conducted a special checking campaign on the National Highway in Ghatampur tehsil area on Friday night. During the operation, nine vehicles were seized and 83 were challaned and a fine of Rs 6.75 lakh was imposed on the offenders.During the campaign, the Transport Department team issued challans to 53 vehicles and seized six vehicles for violating rules. During this action, a fine of Rs 5.75 lakh was imposed.Meanwhile, the mining department seized three vehicles and imposed a total fine of Rs 1 lakh in cases related to illegal mining and transportation.The police department also issued challan against 30 vehicles for violating traffic rules. During this joint operation, enforcement action was taken against a total of 92 vehicles.SDM Abichal Pratap Singh said that this campaign has been launched with the aim of ensuring road safetyTo curb overloading, prevent illegal mining and transportation and ensure compliance with traffic rules and as per the directions of the District Magistrate.
