IndiGo will stop Manchester flights from August 31

New Delhi: IndiGo on Tuesday said it will temporarily shut down its mass flight operations to Manchester from August 31, citing longer flight routes due to airspace restrictions due to the Iran conflict, rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) costs and forex volatility. The budget airline will return one of the six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft that it took on damp lease (leased with operating crew) from Norse Atlantic Airways in early 2025. IndiGo’s Abhijit Dasgupta said, “We inducted these aircraft to rapidly expand our connectivity to high-capacity long-haul destinations and have seen a very encouraging response. It is unfortunate that longer flight times and rising costs forced us to take the decision.”
