SI Jitendra Kumar said Khushboo alleged that she had married Praveen Kumar in 2009, but was living with her parents after a domestic dispute. “On February 9, when Khushboo received an automated message saying that the mortgaged jewelery had been transferred to her husband’s name.”“When she contacted the bank, officials told her that she had gone to the branch with her husband and signed the necessary documents. When she insisted that she had never visited the branch and shared her photograph, the bank confirmed that the woman who had accompanied Praveen was someone else,” the SI said. A case was registered against Praveen and the unidentified woman under BNS sections 318(4) (cheating) and 319(2) (cheating by impersonation).
