Tamil Nadu Elections: NDA finalizes seat sharing, BJP gets 27, PMK 18, AMMK 11 seats; AIADMK will contest elections comfortably

New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance on Monday finalized the arrangements for the upcoming seat-sharing Tamil Nadu 27 seats were allotted in the assembly elections BJP18 seats for PMK and 11 seats for AMMK. AIADMK will contest the remaining 178 seats.The agreement was formalized in Chennai with BJP leader Piyush Goyal and AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami signing the electoral pact at the party headquarters.

Before the announcement, Goyal expressed confidence about the alliance’s prospects, saying, “The people of TN will reject DMK-Congress.” NDA “Will win in TN, Pacherie: Goyal.”BJP’s Tamil Nadu in-charge and Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday that the people of Tamil Nadu will reject the DMK-Congress alliance in the upcoming assembly elections, just as the people of Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar and Delhi rejected the Bharat alliance.Goyal, who arrived in Chennai to finalize seat sharing among the NDA allies, said the AIADMK-led faction would win in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and form the government.He said, “We will start a fight against the evil force DMK and its allies, who have led Tamil Nadu to extremely difficult times due to their incompetent management of the economy and actions that hurt Tamil culture. People are fed up with the DMK and the Congress.”“Just as the Congress and its allies faced consecutive defeats in the elections held in Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar and Delhi, the people of Tamil Nadu will reject the DMK-Congress alliance in the state.”“This is because people want good governance, politics of development, better future and opportunities for prosperity of youth and women. Tamil Nadu is ready for government under a strong National Democratic Alliance under the guidance of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Goyal told reporters.Referring to Modi, he said the Prime Minister has set a record by serving as the head of the government for 25 years and has shown how governance can change lives. He said people in Tamil Nadu want a government led by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami that will focus on the development of farmers and all sections.“We will ensure that the future of Tamil Nadu is very bright,” the minister said.Voting for all 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase on April 23, while 30 seats in neighboring Puducherry will go to polls on April 9.
