New Delhi: Election Commission On Friday, a report was sought from the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal on the recent statement of the Chief Minister. If you want peace in West Bengal for five years, you will have to protect the booths for a day and stop outsiders from electoral manipulation. Come out on the streets with whatever you have at home.”Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against the accused in the incident of violence that took place at Basanti Bazaar in Baruipur police district on Thursday, in which several people, including police personnel, were injured. The accused have been arrested.The Election Commission had earlier suspended Inspector Avijit Paul, in-charge of Basanti PS, for failing to make adequate police arrangements despite having prior information about the public event of two political parties.
