Tamil Nadu elections: CM MK Stalin files nomination, declares assets worth Rs 6.2 crore

Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday filed his nomination for the fourth consecutive time to contest from the North Chennai constituency from Kolathur constituency, which is largely populated by working class voters.Stalin has declared assets worth Rs 6.2 crore, of which movable assets amount to Rs 3.3 crore. Neither Stalin nor his wife Durga Stalin own any car or bike. The Chief Minister had declared assets worth Rs 7.1 crore in his affidavit filed during the 2021 elections.After filing the nomination, Stalin conducted a road show in his red and black jeep and greeted the people gathered on both sides of the road. Stalin told reporters that he would win by a much larger margin than in the previous election. “I am seeing unprecedented support in Kolathur this time. The people here will give me a resounding victory,” he said. DMK He said the front will win more than 200 seats across the state and this election is a fight against New Delhi for the rights of Tamil Nadu.He also released a booklet on his contribution to the development of Kolathur, which was distributed among the public. The 185-page booklet titled ‘Namma Kolathur, Namma Mudhalvar’ (Our Kolathur, Our CM) details the projects implemented by Stalin in the last five years.In the evening, Stalin hosted a tea party for DMK front leaders at Anna Arivalayam, the party DMK headquarters in Chennai. Speaking at the event, Stalin said the alliance which faced its first elections in 2019 has become stronger.“No alliance anywhere in the entire country has existed for so many years,” he said, adding that unlike other alliances formed for seat sharing, ideology was the foundation of the secular progressive alliance.
