MUMBAI: Ruled out of the 2026 T20 World Cup and then the IPL after suffering a knee injury in the World Cup warm-up match against South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on February 4, India fast bowler Harshit Rana is “recovering well”.Rana underwent the surgery on February 9 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala.

He is doing well and his knee is healing faster than expected. His weight has increased a bit, which means his fitness is a bit of a concern. “He will need to work on his fitness,” a source tracking developments told TOI. The 24-year-old Rana had won the ‘Best International Debut’ award at the BCCI awards in Delhi last month. “Surgery went well, now focused on recovery and getting back to doing what I love,” Rana posted on Instagram along with a photo of him giving a thumbs up while lying in a hospital bed.
