Ahmedabad: What started as a routine murder investigation in Vatva took a dramatic turn when the police unearthed a major counterfeiting racket earlier this week. Police have now seized fake Rs 500 notes worth about Rs 29 lakh and arrested six people. The six arrested persons have been identified as Suraj Sahni, 20, of Narol; Ravikumar Shah, 23, Virendra Baghel, 25, and Chandramohan Sharma, 23, residents of Vatva; And a minor has been detained. Additionally, police used technical intelligence to arrest 49-year-old Meraj Rabari from Banaskantha. This breakthrough came when Zone-7 Local Crime Branch (LCB) was investigating the death of Imran Sindha. A search of Sindha’s flat in Satej Homes in Vatva revealed a sophisticated setup of laptops, color printers and paper used to make fake Indian currency, which immediately triggered a parallel investigation.According to the police, Sindha, who has now been made the main accused along with his syndicate members, had rented the premises in March. The network allegedly used the apartment as a mini-mint to print high quality fake Rs 500 notes for circulation in the open market. Investigators suspect that fake notes worth around Rs 60 lakh may have already been recovered in the operation.Following the paper trail, joint teams of LCB and Vatva Police traced the materials hidden at locations in Agra, Uttar Pradesh and Dholpur, Rajasthan, and ultimately recovered fake notes with face value of Rs 28.95 lakh.

Mysore: A rare piece of late 19th century railway heritage has been restored and unveiled at the Mysuru Railway Museum. The restored exhibition, mechanical platform weighing scale with 2,000 kg capacity was inaugurated by Mysuru Divisional Railway Manager Mudit Mittal. It offers visitors a glimpse of the engineering excellence and operational practices of a bygone era.The heritage asset has now been dedicated to the public as part of the museum’s efforts to preserve and showcase the rich heritage of Indian Railways, a release on Saturday said.Built by the renowned British engineering firm Henry Pooley & Son of Liverpool in the late 1880s, the weighing machine was originally purchased by the South Indian Railways. Following the reorganization and merger of the railway network in 1951, which included the then Mysore State Railway, South Indian Railways and Madras and Southern Mahratta Railways, the equipment became part of it. Southern RailwayIt said. Its last known operational location was Bangarapet Junction, now under the South Western Railway zone.Designed to weigh passengers’ luggage, parcels and freight consignments, the scale is a remarkable example of Victorian era engineering. ‘Complete lie’: Yusuf Pathan says neither TMC chief nor any other leader asked him to resign on Mamata’s behalf | india news

'Complete lie': Yusuf Pathan says neither TMC chief nor any other leader asked him to resign on Mamata's behalf

New Delhi: Cricketer turned politician Yusuf Pathan On Saturday rejected reports which claimed that the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee Either directly or through Sourav Ganguly, he was asked to resign from his Lok Sabha seat to pave the way for contesting the by-election.In a video shared on social media, Pathan termed the reports as “completely false” and said that neither the former West Bengal chief minister nor any other party leader had ever discussed such a proposal with her.Pathan said, “For some time now, a news has been going viral in which it is being claimed that Mamata Banerjee has asked me to resign from my MP seat, Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency, so that she can contest elections from there.”He said, “Mamata Banerjee never spoke to me on this matter. This claim is completely false. Therefore, neither Mamata Banerjee nor any party leader has asked me to resign from my MP seat.”This clarification comes amid ongoing speculation over the Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency and reports that efforts are being made to pave the way for Mamata to enter Parliament through the by-election.Following these reports, rumors gained momentum that TMC had reportedly sought the help of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly to convince Pathan to vacate the seat. Speculations intensified over Mamata’s political future after her electoral setback against BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in the West Bengal Assembly elections.Earlier, Ganguly had also strongly refuted the claims and said that reports linking him to any such efforts were false. In a statement, Ganguly said it is alleged that he contacted Pathan on Mamata’s behalf and gave him a message asking him to “step down/resign from his constitutional post as the elected representative” of the constituency to enable him to contest the by-election.Ganguly said, “The above allegations are false.”Calling the reports irresponsible, he said it was “extremely unfortunate” that no effort was made by Mamata to verify the allegations before publication. He further said that the claims related to him were made with “disregard for the truth”. Ganguly also categorically denied acting as a mediator for the TMC chief. He said, “Thus it is necessary to put on record that Ms. Mamata Banerjee had never requested/asked me to convey any of her messages to Mr. Yusuf Pathan.”

‘Deserve a chance to prove’: Ashwin questions Suryakumar Yadav’s India T20 snub. cricket news

'Deserve a chance to prove': Ashwin questions Suryakumar Yadav's India T20 snub

Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin The selectors’ decision to exclude has been questioned Suryakumar Yadav From India’s T20I setup, called it a “historic” and “ruthless” call and suggested that the World Cup-winning captain deserved more time to prove himself. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced India’s T20 squad for the tour of England and Ireland, with Shreyas Iyer named as captain and Tilak Verma as vice-captain.The decision cost Suryakumar both the captaincy and his place in the team, less than three months after leading India to the 2026 T20 World Cup title.Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said the move was based on form and the team’s plans for the next T20 World Cup cycle. However, Ashwin feels Suryakumar has earned the opportunity to stake one final claim for himself, especially in the upcoming England series.Speaking on ESPNcricinfo, Ashwin said that he was surprised by how the decision was taken and believed that Suryakumar’s contribution as captain should also have been taken into account.“Look, I think it’s a very interesting precedent, if I can say so. I just want to put myself in Suryakumar Yadav’s shoes and think for an example how he might be feeling at the moment. I’m sure every player has the right to be disappointed at being dropped from the team and if he’s feeling bad about it then that’s fair, but on the whole occasion, the way it’s been done, I’m a little apprehensive about the whole thing.”“Because I’m thinking in my mind, okay, I’m a T20 World Cup-winning captain. I’m just putting myself in Surya’s shoes and thinking about it. Obviously, my batting form has let me down in the last 18 months or 15 months or whatever. I am not in the best form I could be. But then I managed to win the T20 World Cup for the country. It wasn’t the greatest World Cup as a batsman, but certainly, like everyone else in the team – the coach, the vice-captain, the best performing batsman, the best performing bowler – he has also been the best performing captain, right? He has played his role.Ashwin said he understands the long-term vision of the selectors but feels Suryakumar deserves more support after winning the World Cup.“I watched Ajit’s press conference and I liked what he said: What are we planning for the next two years, which is a good way to look at it. But is there a possibility that they could have given Surya a little more time? And if you feel he is not in your XI, could he have been given the big England series to prove himself as a batsman that he belongs in that place? I think after achieving such a big feat in his career He deserved it.Ashwin said that this decision can become a reference point for future selection calls involving captains.“Is there any instance where a T20 World Cup-winning captain has been dropped without any ultimatum? I’m sure there would have been communication. I have no doubt about that. But if you ask me, it’s quite a historic day in selection, because the next time something like this comes up, it will be taken as some kind of precedent. And let’s not forget, T20 is a high-risk game where batsmen are expected to save their wickets. Those extra limitations Line up to score. You want them to play cricket where the risk is high and so my question is: could a slightly better deal have been made with the captain of the reigning champions?

He said massive discrepancies were deliberately created during the land registration process to show that only three acres of land fell in the Shikam category. “This is a lie. We have the evidence, and I am sure the government also has it. We demand that the state government initiate immediate action, seize back the land and compensate Pawan Kalyan under standard terms, as they would do with any normal farmer,” the TRS leader said.Accusing Hydra of adopting double standards over the encroachment of the lake, he accused the institution of working as a tool to oppress the poor and the middle class and protect ultra-rich corporate violators. He claimed, “When we protested against Mr. Aditya Vantage, the agency tried to defame us, but we responded with hard, undeniable facts. To date, Hydra has not taken a single step towards punishing that project.”
