Soon after, TVK District Administrator Mohanpriya lodged a complaint at the Karumathampatti police station, demanding strict action against those responsible for screening the unreleased film on cable television.

The police went to the complainant’s location and found the cable operator who had shown the film illegally. Police also arrested Palanisamy, who was accused of illegal telecast of the film ‘Jana Nayakan’. The accused was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody. Additionally, police seized the cable operator as well as all items used in the broadcast, such as a computer and five hard disks. Sealing the Cable House office was also part of the investigation. Authorities believe the seized equipment could help trace the source of the pirated copy and reveal how the film reached the cable network.
