Tata Motors expects rise in EV bookings due to rising fuel costs

New Delhi: Tata Motors Electric vehicles are witnessing a surge in demand as rising fuel prices and inflation concerns drive more consumers towards low-cost mobility options, especially in the affordable passenger vehicle segment.“There has been a sharp jump in just two months; it is about 2 to 2.5 times for EVs,” said Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. He said that now more and more families want at least one electric car. He said the growth in demand for EVs has accelerated in recent weeks as customers are rethinking ownership costs. The company currently produces around 10,000 EVs per month and plans to increase the capacity to 15,000 units monthly in the next three to four months. Fertilizer stuck in Persian Gulf, government plans to transport it to port by road. india news

New Delhi: With 17 ships carrying fertilizer bound for India stuck in the Persian Gulf since the conflict in West Asia began, the government is considering an option to transport a part of this dry bulk commodity. As Deepak Dash reports, the plan is to move it from its current locations by road – after the ships dock – to Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu port and from there by ships to Indian ports.TOI has learned that fertilizer department officials informed an informal group of ministers (IGoM) on Wednesday that they are exploring this option, although the route is longer by road and through the Red Sea. The road journey from Persian Gulf ports to Yanbu port is about 1,200 km, people aware of the discussions said.An official said, “It is a longer route and will take more days than passing through the Strait of Hormuz. But there appears to be no other option as the passage of ships through the Strait has been badly affected. The high cost due to the delay of 60-70 days has become a major concern and the demand for fertilizers for Kharif crops will peak by mid-June.”Officials of the Department of Fertilizer informed the IGOM that if the conflict continued, the sowing season of Rabi (winter) crop would be more affected.

A controversial social media streamer has been removed from a flight after airline staff said her condition following facial surgery has raised concerns about whether she is fit to travel. Ronan Androgenic, a 25-year-old influencer based in Brisbane, Australia, shared a video on TikTok showing the moment he was asked to leave after boarding a Jetstar flight. According to Androgenic, he had undergone cosmetic surgery in Thailand five days ago and was trying to return home. The video immediately gained attention online. In the footage, Ronan Androgenic can be seen sitting on the plane with heavy bandages on his jaw and chin. He claimed that airline staff questioned his condition and ultimately decided he could not remain on the flight. Ronan Androgen told the audience that staff were worried because they did not have their medicines in their carry-on luggage. However, airline staff also pointed to his physical condition, saying that he looked unusually tired and unwell. Staff members said his reactions were slow and visible swelling around his face and eyes raised concerns about his health.

Ronan Androgynous disputes Jetstar’s decision after facial surgery in Thailand

During the exchange shown in the video, airline employees repeatedly told Ronan Androgenic that they were concerned about his ability to complete the flight safely. An employee said he seemed sleepy while answering questions. Another pointed to the swelling on his face and said he was not feeling well enough to travel.Ronan Androgenic strongly disagreed. He said he was only tired because he was preparing to sleep during the flight. He also said that a doctor had cleared him to fly after the procedure.According to the video, Ronan Androgenic argued that it is normal to rest before a long flight. He told staff he had to go home and felt he was being treated unfairly despite having medical clearance. As the discussion progressed, it became more heated. Airline staff told them that even if they had previously shown a document, crew members were still responsible for deciding whether a passenger was fit to fly at the time of boarding. Staff also said his behavior during the disagreement was becoming disruptive.Jetstar later responded to the incident in a statement to News.com.au. The airline said crew members are trained to assess passengers before departure and can deny travel if they feel someone is not healthy enough to fly safely. Jetstar also said that abusive language and aggressive behavior towards staff is not accepted.Ronan Androgenic is known for promoting “luxmaxing” online, which focuses on improving physical appearance through intensive self-improvement, cosmetic procedures and body modification. This trend has gained popularity on social media in recent years. Another creator associated with this trend, Clavicular, has also faced controversy in the past for online content that has attracted criticism.

“I find something else problematic”: Naomi Osaka doubles down on French Open fashion despite Laura Siegemund criticism international sports news

Naomi Osaka is not changing her approach French OpenDespite criticism that more attention was being paid to his on-court presence than to his tennis. The Japanese star once again made a spectacular entry ahead of her second round match against Donna Vekic at Roland Garros. This time, she walked into court wearing an ivory-colored flowing train at the back of her dress. She also wore a matching warm-up jacket before removing extra layers before the game. The appearance came just days after Osaka’s first-round match, when her opponent, Germany’s Laura Siegemund, questioned how much time Osaka was allowed to spend taking off her outfit before the start of the match. Siegmund made it clear that his issue was not with the design but with how the tournament rules were implemented.Osaka is known for turning Grand Slam arrivals into fashion moments. At this year’s French Open, she first appeared in a black corset and skirt made from recycled Nike garments and later revealed a glittering gold dress, which she said reminded her of the Eiffel Tower at night. Despite the controversy surrounding her outfits, Osaka continues to attract attention and says she enjoys keeping fans guessing what she will wear next.

Naomi Osaka responds to criticism as Laura Siegmund questions French Open rules over organization change

After the first round loss, Laura Siegemond spoke to TNT Sports and explained why she was disappointed.“I’m here to play tennis, not do a fashion show,” Sigmund said. “And if other people want to do a fashion show, they should go ahead and do that. That’s perfectly fine with me.”He continued to focus on unequal treatment under tournament rules.“I find something else problematic. In our sport, in every tournament they count every second, right up until you open your water bottle. But he may get one and a half minutes to change it. I have a problem with that, because these rules just exist and that’s the way they are.”“And I also think that with a performance like this, every second has to count. That’s the only thing in terms of the rules that I don’t think is right and where, once again, the big names are treated differently.”Meanwhile, Osaka appeared relaxed about the conversation surrounding her outfit. Speaking about her gold dress she said that it reminded her of the famous Paris landmark.“When I saw the dress for the first time in real life, I felt like I looked like the Eiffel Tower at night when it was glowing,” Osaka said.“And then I actually got a little worried, because when the sun hits the dress, it reflects a lot. I was a little scared that the umpire was going to throw me off the court.”Osaka also explained why fashion remains an important part of her tournament performance.“Sometimes people say athletes or entertainers or something in show business. I feel like, for me, Grand Slam walk-ons are the only time I possibly think I’m an entertainer.”When asked if she planned a different outfit for every match, Osaka replied with a smile: “You know, I like to keep people excited. I think it’s really fun.”The former world No. 1 has built a reputation for bold fashion statements at major events, and based on her latest appearance in Paris, she’s not interested in slowing down any time soon.
