South Korean authorities charged the 2024 Somali, whose real name is Ramsey Khalid Ismail, with violating public order and disrupting trade and banned him from leaving the country.In October 2024, the 25-year-old YouTuber posted several videos provoking South Koreans. As the incident sparked massive reaction, Somali apologized and said he was not aware of the statue’s significance. The trial, originally scheduled for March 2025, was delayed as prosecutors added additional charges alleging that Ismail shared AI-generated sexual content with deepfakes with a female YouTuber. “The defendants repeatedly committed crimes against unspecified members of the public to make profits through YouTube and distributed content in disregard of Korean law,” the court said during the trial. Coimbatore: Former Union Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday alleged that the Central government’s move to increase the number of Lok Sabha seats by 50% in the name of “delimitation” is a deceptive strategy aimed at systematically reducing the political influence of the southern states.Addressing reporters in Coimbatore, the senior Congress leader shared critical views regarding the special session of Parliament and the proposed Delimitation Bill.
Speaking on the expansion of Lok Sabha seats, Chidambaram said, “If the delimitation was done directly, it would have become very clear to the people. Tamil NaduThe seats will be reduced from 39 to 32. To hide this, they are first increasing the total seats by 50% and then doing delimitation. This is just an illusion. Although it may appear that Tamil Nadu’s parliamentary seats will increase to 46, our proportional strength compared to the northern states will be drastically reduced.He expressed concern that while the strength of states like Uttar Pradesh will increase from 80 to around 140, the collective voting strength of the five southern states will reduce from 24.3% to 20.7%. He warned, “This is a dangerous move that will further suppress the voice of South India in Parliament.”Criticizing the decision to call a special Parliament session on April 16, Chidambaram asked, “When 67 MPs from Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are busy with election work, why hold the session now? The waiting time for new applicants will be approximately 12 to 15 years. These are both the most commonly used routes by H-1B Indians to get a green card and due to the huge demand, there is a massive backlog. The current waiting time in both these categories is on average 25-30 years.

The ‘150-year wait time’ stems from an analysis by the Cato Institute, which said in a 2023 report that 400,000 Indian workers hoping for employment-based green cards in the US face a wait of 134 years. The US has an annual cap of 140,000 employment-based visas and a 7% quota for each country. The study said that 18 lakh cases are pending and of these, 11 lakh are from India. “New applicants from India will have to wait a lifetime and more than 400,000 will die before they can get a green card,” the report said.Wait times vary depending on various factors. Many applicants upgrade from EB-3 or EB-2 to EB-1, which is a faster route, freeing up some slots. Some people choose the EB-5 category which is for investors in the US. Some eventually leave the queue and settle in other countries.

आदर्श की मौत ने एक बार फिर खुले सोख्ता गड्ढों और असुरक्षित निर्माण पर सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं। बताया जा रहा है कि आदर्श खेलते-खेलते एक सोख्ता गड्ढे के पास पहुंच गया और उसमें गिर गया, लेकिन किसी को इसकी भनक तक नहीं लगी. बिना ढक्कन या फेंसिंग के बने ऐसे गड्ढे आबादी के लिए खतरा बने हुए हैं। ग्रामीणों ने प्रशासन से आबादी क्षेत्र में खुले गड्ढों को चिह्नित कर उन्हें ढकने या संरक्षित करने की मांग की है।
