Jammu: At least seven passengers were killed and several others injured when a bus fell into a ditch in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Monday, news agency PTI reported.Rescue efforts were launched immediately after the accident, with emergency teams reaching the spot. Union Minister, Jitendra Singh, in a post on ‘X’ said, “Just spoke to DC Udhampur, Shri Minga Sherpa after learning about a tragic road accident at village Kanot less than an hour ago, involving a public transport bus en route from Ramnagar to Udhampur.”Singh further said, “Rescue operations have been started immediately. Heavy casualties are expected. All possible assistance is being provided. The injured will be shifted for medical aid. Arrangements are being made to airlift the seriously injured.”
