Patna: Samrat Chaudhary-led NDA government in Bihar won the trust vote in the state assembly on Friday.Chaudhary moved the resolution during the one-day special session, saying “the House expresses its confidence in the present Council of Ministers in the state”.
The resolution was passed by voice vote in the 243-strong House, where the BJP-led NDA has an overwhelming majority with 202 seats.Chaudhary became the first BJP leader to lead the government in the state after the resignation of JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, who had quit the top post when he was elected to the Rajya Sabha, earlier this month.Only two JD(U) leaders, Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, were included in the new cabinet and named as deputy chief ministers.Apart from JD(U), the BJP-led alliance in the state includes Union minister Chirag Paswan’s LJP (RV), Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi-led HAM and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM.In the elections held in November last year, an alliance of five parties had won 202 seats.
