One thing we have to understand is that when foreign nationals were traveling in the crashed plane, this (investigation report) would be for any country to investigate. Any country or organization can raise questions,” news agency PTI quoted Naidu as saying.“Therefore, the investigation must be conducted with seriousness, impartiality and transparency and it is being conducted in the same spirit,” he said. The minister said the investigation has reached its final stages and the findings are likely to be made public within a month.“The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is conducting an independent investigation and we are providing whatever resources they have asked for,” the Union minister said.Naidu also said the Civil Aviation Ministry is continuing to coordinate compensation and assistance to the families of the victims through a dedicated cell set up after the accident.“We are keeping an eye on the situation. We have a cell in the ministry which is coordinating compensation and other things announced at that time. If anyone has any problem, we will look into it,” he said.The minister’s comments come amid growing demands from victims’ relatives for greater transparency in the investigation. Around 30 families from across Gujarat recently wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the release of cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) black box data to help trace the cause of the crash.Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 aircraft bound for London Gatwick, crashed into a medical college hostel complex shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025.The plane caught fire upon impact, killing 241 of the 242 people on board and 19 on the ground, making it one of India’s deadliest aviation disasters in recent years.
