Bengaluru's 'My e-Khata, My Hakku' campaign receives massive response; 2,939 applications received for property regularization

In the recent update, Karnataka capital Bengaluru is all set to digitalize property ownership. The campaign has gained momentum, with the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) receiving 2,939 applications under the newly launched “My e-Khata, My Hakku” initiative. It is a part of the “Bhu Guarantee” scheme of the Government of Karnataka which aims to simplify property documentation. According to reports, this will help millions of residents secure legal ownership records through digital e-accounts.The campaign has been launched at a crucial time for Bengaluru’s booming real estate market. A large number of homeowners are struggling with paperwork and documentation, especially those associated with B-account properties.The first phase of the campaign was held on May 16 in five municipal corporations of Bengaluru and as per the data, around 1,242 applications were verified and approved. These were disposed of on the spot. Now the remaining 1,697 applications will be processed within the stipulated time limit. Under the new scheme, the Karnataka government has reduced the conversion charges for B-account to A-account assets from 5% of the guidance value to only 2%. Of these, 568 applications were reportedly approved immediately.Active participation in mutation applications and succession or transfer was also recorded. Out of 139 mutation requests, 64 were processed and 90 out of 236 new account applications were approved during the event. It will be organized at various centers in Bengaluru. E-Khata is a digitally maintained property certificate that records all the details of the house including ownership details, tax history and property classification.
