When we reached the sets of Root – Running Out of Time, the team was busy filming the fight scene between Gautam Ram Karthik and Aparshakti Khurana in a ballroom setting. The leading man of Root, Gautam Ram Karthik, tells us, “Root is a time-based sci-fi thriller. So, you have to make what’s happening in the movie believable, even if it’s unbelievable. Root is a proper action thriller. We are shooting an important fight sequence in the ballroom today. Gautham’s character has to open many mysterious doors while investigating a series of murders. While maintaining a work-life balance between being a husband and a policeman, he has to pull many invisible strings. Aparshakti is an expert in acting and the character (Anandan) needed an actor like him. Both Gautham and she are endearing and are great assets to the film.I am playing the role of a CB-CID officer: Gautam Ram Karthik

My character Chezhiyan is a CB-CID investigating officer. He is a bit cocky but in control at the beginning of the film. For me, every character I play is different in its own way. In this film, it is about how my character will balance the investigation and his personal time. I played the role of an undercover cop in Pathu Thala. The role is of a regular cop trying to solve a case and its scope is quite wide.

I have been an editor cum assistant director on the set: John AbrahamI was part of the film as an editor after Surya Pratap came up with the idea. There are a lot of styles in this movie, and the sci-fi is a little futuristic. So, bringing everything together is a bit challenging. The music will be unique. The genre of the film is diverse and the music is also diverse. It will have a classical touch as well as western and hip-hop. It will be a mix of everything.Today, we are filming a complex fight sequence. We are trying to give the film a lifelike treatment and make it as natural as possible, especially the Aparshakti scenes. I am playing the character of Aparshakti sir’s wife. He is a domestic character. They are a lovely couple who are very much in love. I am a big fan of Aparshakti sir and have been following him. It was really comfortable working with him.– Pavani
