‘ABVP is built on strong organizational principles’: RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale at Yashwantrao Kelkar centenary celebrations | india news
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale on Sunday participated in the “Priya Kelkar Ji” program organized to commemorate the birth centenary of the organization’s architect and former national president Yashwant Rao Kelkar. All India Student Council (All India Student Council), RSS affiliated student organization.The event was organized by the Delhi unit of ABVP at the Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Center in the national capital.Addressing the gathering, Hosabale said, “Kelkar Yes Provided the organizational principles on which the strong foundation of the ABVP was built. He ensured that ABVP was not limited to mere movements, but was directed towards constructive work, representation and nation-building.”

He further said, “Kelkar Yes Presented an ideal model of organizational life. He was a personality who took everyone along without any jealousy or bitterness. His life remains an eternal source of inspiration for the workers.”During the programme, a performance troupe led by Milind Bhadge from Pune presented “Priya Kelkar Ji”, portraying the life, thoughts and organizational functioning of the late ABVP president.

On this occasion, many present and former officials of ABVP including National President Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari were also present. Senior RSS members, Vice-Chancellors, Registrars and professors of various universities, Speaker of Delhi Assembly, Delhi Government Ministers, officials of other organizations associated with the RSS and a large number of students participated in the programme.Yashwantrao Kelkar was born on April 25, 1925 in Pandharpur (Solapur), Maharashtra. He became a pracharak of RSS in 1945. In 1955, he started teaching English at the National College and, following the instructions of the Sangh, started working for the ABVP.
