इस नए एक्सप्रेसवे पर वाहन चालक अधिकतम 120 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से सफर कर सकेंगे. अभी लखनऊ से कानपुर तक का सफर तय करने में कई घंटे लगते हैं, लेकिन इस एक्सप्रेसवे के चालू होने के बाद यह दूरी महज 45 मिनट में तय की जा सकेगी. इससे न केवल समय की बचत होगी बल्कि सड़क दुर्घटनाओं में भी कमी आने की उम्मीद है।

टोल टैक्स और नियम तय
सूत्रों के मुताबिक, इस एक्सप्रेसवे पर एक तरफ का टोल टैक्स 275 रुपये रखा गया है, जबकि वापसी पर टोल 415 रुपये होगा. NHAI ने साफ कर दिया है कि इस एक्सप्रेसवे पर दोपहिया और तिपहिया वाहनों को चलने की इजाजत नहीं होगी. केवल चार पहिया और भारी वाहन ही इसका उपयोग कर सकेंगे.

दो जोन में निर्माण कार्य पूरा
इस पूरे प्रोजेक्ट को दो हिस्सों में तैयार किया गया है. पहला जोन लखनऊ में 18.7 किमी लंबा है, जबकि दूसरा जोन उन्नाव में 45.3 किमी लंबा है। इस तरह कुल 64 किलोमीटर लंबा एक्सप्रेसवे अब पूरी तरह से तैयार है. इस प्रोजेक्ट की पहले रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह भी तारीफ कर चुके हैं.

इंटरचेंज एवं कनेक्टिविटी सुविधाएं
एक्सप्रेसवे दो प्रमुख स्थानों से जुड़ा है, जिसमें कानपुर-लखनऊ राजमार्ग और उन्नाव-लालगंज (रायबरेली) राजमार्ग शामिल हैं। यात्री जाजमऊ गंगा ब्रिज या गंगा बैराज होते हुए आजाद मार्ग चौराहे से इस एक्सप्रेस-वे पर आसानी से चढ़ और उतर सकेंगे।
